I believe the chopped Borla exhaust on my truck is the MAIN reason it look the dealer so long to sell, well that and the beat up wheels/tires.

70 mph you cant really hear it, its loud at low revs between 1500 - 2200 rpm after that its pretty quiet, no drone in mine at all, did at first but after it breaks in the drone goes away. has a rumble sound rather than loud. you can check it out if you want im in walnut creek. 30 mins away from the city.

I have the magnaflow 18" on mine.
I haven't had to work from SF in a few weeks though so I'm not sure when the next time I'm up there.

cherry bomb vortex is pretty good too, flowmaster 44 is louder than 40, and 40 is louder than 50, magnaflow's product quality is not as good as it use to be.

With a magnaflow you actually gain ponies. With a flowmaster you lose HP. I'll take my "product quality" over a fuck annoying drone and a slower truck.

I have a magnaflow 4x9" 18"long on my 3.4l '03. Its not loud its lower sounding than stock at 2000+rpms you can't hear it, under it sounds awesome. On the freeway no drone going 50-70mph at all.

Because flowmasters havea a chambered design and not a strait through design. Chambers work wonders to make that super deep resonating sound, but you're also not getting the flow you would with a traditional strait through muffler like a magnaflow (or pretty much any other aftermarket muffler on the market). Unless you drill out the chambers, you're losing ponies.

I'm too lazy to search right now but chris2x4 did some extensive dyno testing (not an ass dyno) with different bolt on mufflers. Consistenly the flowmasters lost 1-2 hp. Even you're basic run of the mil $50 dynomax gained something like 6 hp with the 3.4. It's on TW somewhere though.
