Got about 2" at my place. Dogs tracks have been filled in twice now. :D tomorrow morning will be a shit show for a commute.

Depends on the AWD system used. Symmetrical AWD found in Subarus has various torque splits (35/65 was early STi then 41/59). Haldex in Audi/VW has several generations some act FWD until a % of wheel slip is detected prior to engaging...new Golf R is more rear biased but the split is constantly variable. Then some AWD use yaw control to split power from right to left, Mitsi does this with the Evo X.

I see AWD as high range gear ratios and variable torque splits, where as 4wd has low range and is constant split front to rear.

    I just sold a 2004 R32..:( But, I do have a 2006 double cab now so I am OK.

The 4motion (Haldex) on that thing was nice, I liked how it had a button that allowed me to disable it at will...

Yep. Roads are wet, hwys are wet. Neighborhood's are slush.

We took our chains off about 30 minutes ago. This beast is smooth without chains, but a bitch with them on

Well hopefully we'll get something that packs a little bit more of a punch before winter is over.

False. AWD is any system that powers all four wheels with no low-range and most of the time can't be switched to 2-wheel drive.

    4WD is switchable and has a low-range.

    What's up guy's?

Name is Joshua. Got a truck recently. I had a Magnum SRT8 and got it stuck in the sand at the beach recently and decided the next day, to go buy a truck. I found a 2011 TRD Double cab sitting on the show room floor and said "I'll take it". I am preparing for Oregon back country route 3 this summer already. I love to find places to wheel and hang out and drink beer. I'm clever with mild fabrication and fixing the things I break.

My 4Runner has AWD that I can obviously switch back to 2 wheel drive, plus 4Hi and 4Lo. :woot:

There are power line trails everywhere. Sure they're not talking about Power Line trail out at Brown's Camp?

Plenty of snow still in Gresham, not so much in Portland. :(
