its part of the silver too... im gonna tackle this soon as soon as i find out the prints and crap.... LOL

 

Once you peal off the silver that's it. Sad thing is you have to print out new labels and those are white. The orange tint is on the silver that you peal off.

 

I have the labels saved in a Microsoft word doc if you guys want it.

Here are the lables in the word doc. Only thing you have to do is size it up. Print out and hold it up to the light see if it lines up.

I added three of these



then just soldered them to the back of the 12v bulbs

 

hmm...i was going to make my "own" type of board or strips to run behind there...those look good

 

and here is the matching cluster...tomorrow night when i stop by his house to install it i will take a pic with the matching radio

That is a good idea, the light output on the LEDs do not completely fill up all the areas of the dials and that looks to fill it up. One other way to get them wired in, is to put the two wires into the twist bulb plastic part and wire them like the bulb was in there before then twist them back in with no soldering.

I promise I will update the write up thread to have better information if anyone is wanting it. I uploaded a few pictures to my gallery that I took when I was pulling the silver dials off, the silver dials were a pain to get off with out major tearing.

Jerez - any thing on you getting a 2012 AC control? I would like to see the insides.

Blackshirts - how did you do the arrows on the knobs to get the white in there. I have tried making a cast of the orange inserts and then pouring in epoxy to form a clear one instead of the hot glue in there.

Jones- yea I did the whole scraping thing also but on the middle dial it tore in two. So I was fu**ed

The arrows well I used clear sylicone that dried white. And whalla.. not the best but it works for me

 

hmmm...clear sylicone doesnt sound like a bad idea

 

add food colouring of your choice and BAM no more white triangles or paint of your colour
