Was going to pay a shop to do this, but since reading this DIY I have decided to do it myself. Toytec 2" AAL ordered and on its way! Thank you!

Ok parts were delayed going after this this weekend. I am still looking around on here for all the torque specs, I have some but not all as I am doing the front also. If ya'll could maybe chime in with some I would really appreciate it.

As for the Toytec AAL I received the centering pins came with a small spacer. reread this thread and no one mentions a pin spacer. Where does it go?

It should be just the pin and the nut. What does the spacer look like?

This is what was in the box with my leafs.

The pins, the nuts, and 2 spacers.

Still haven't found any reference to these on here. Any Ideas?

The spacers or "center pin extenders" go down against the button. If you need to use a degree shim later, there will be enough button projection to go through the shim and into the spring seat or perch.

So to recap, the spacers go under the spring to extend/lengthen the locating button.

Thanks, that makes perfect sense. I got the shims from toytec but was told here that I would not need them. So I will not use the center pin extenders or the shims.

Sorry OP to thread jack, but your write up has helped me a whole lot.

Wrong. Go ahead and use them.

They will sit dormant in case you need them because of unforeseen driveline vibrations which might require degree shims.

If you don't install them, and need them later, you will have to unbolt the spring packs and install them the hard way.
It's just preventative medicine, the easy way.

Installed my Wheelers Progressive Three Leaf AAL that i got used. And left my overload springs in. I had to get creative with my jack to get the truck high enough to get the really long centre pins in. I never really use the clamp, but did buy one for this job. the side he show was the hardest, had those brake lines stretched right out. I even tweaked the hard steal lines a bit to get the bracket to stand up off the axle. I wasn't to sure when i was bolting the new U bolts up how everything should line up. But used a tape measure as I tightened the bolts try and keep everything even and not tilt the plate that goes under the axle one way or another. I had an angle grinder with a thin cutting blade that I used to cut the centre pins once they were in as well as the ridiculously long U-bolts i bought as well. My favourite part of this job was getting the axle to seat on the centre pin and settle on it. For this I used my feet to push on the leaf and arms to move the axle into line then Pop it all fit in.

I ordered my AAL and it didn't come with any center pins. There is an offroad shop a few miles from my house that sells the center pins what diameter and length bolt do you guys think I need because at the auto parts store the sell them in 3 diffrent diameters?

25/64" is the Diameter. They come in a "Universal Length", and you cut it to fit after the instal.

thanks, but would a 3/8 center pin be fine or does the leaf pack and center pin need to have zero play? I can pick up 3/8 center pin at the auto parts store. and does it matter what size round head it has?

Ive never used a smaller size, so Im not sure what ill effects it would have. Being that the U bolts bear all the clamping forces, I dont think it would be an issue.
