Where I am there are no emission controls.
I was thinking of making a flange pipe to connect pipe ends of the the cat converters that I cut out. U bolts would make it returnable if rules change.
Along with the cold air intake , this is going to require recalabration of the chip.
The dealer does not have the calibration modual. I guess that I will have to buy one.
What hapens to the fuel/ air mix if I remove the cats?
Do I need to do something fast?

Sorry cool, way above my head. Why would you want to do this anyway ? Maybe your truck performance will suffer and also the environment, just because you can doesn't mean you should. :(

Also, from reading up on the URD MAF Calibrator it seems to only work at WOT. Anything less than WOT, and the truck runs on default settings. At WOT, it just dumps fuel and air without monitoring the ratio so the MAF Calibrator can kick in then and adjust the ratio.

Unless you do a ECU flash to compensate.... Keep in mind though, I'm no expert! I just absorbed a few things reading about the calibrator and tried to decide if I would benefit from it. I don't think I would. No performance mods, and RARELY do I hit WOT.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
the o2 sensors are before and after the front cats. u can remove the rear 2 w/o issue, but if u get the long tube headers and take out the front 2 cats, u will throw a CEL. to take out the rear cats, there's also the urd rear pipe

    getting there....
or you could get a shop to remove the 2 rear cats and weld in straight "test" pipes......basically the same thing as the urd y-pipe, just maybe not as free'd up. when my warranty is done.....i think i will go this route.

Ok thanks for the clarification. I didn't really look into it too much. Still under warranty, and NY as so many stupid laws I didn't want to mess with them. My corolla only has 1 cat to deal with, not 4!

    +1 Dude.

I used to think the same about my motorycycle. I used to think, "Oh, it's just me doing this" and my small motor on my GSXR 750.

Same as truck, cars, etc. But, we're all in it together. If everyone thought this way, the world would be a crappy place.

Everyone thinking it's just me, contributes to the impact in the world.

It's not "just me" anymore. That thinking is selfish and selfishness affects others.

Any individual reduction helps everyone. The signs are obvious. We must all do out individual parts to not pollute or shit in our backyards.

    Gas isn't going down.

I spoke to URD and Performence 4 trucks. 4 TRUCKS AND MY DEALER SVC.
The TRD cat back exaust is fine. I need the back pressure for low end torque.
A cold air intake will help with how I use the truck. I need low tourque power.
The K&N I have on my BMW Moter.
With a Trapp exahust, I had to have the carbs re jetted, syncronized and the timing changed. But that is over.
I have more power in the 3500 to 5000 range, which where is where I run it. And I picked up 10 MPH.
Except for off road, the taco is at 2000 RPM. I don`t need power there. Just drop a gear.

So would you pick the K&N or The URD?

I`m changing all of the oil to Mobile 1. I have 9500 mls now.
And installing the over head gun racks while I`m at it.

Then I should die before I have to do any more mods.
If they come up with an inter cooled and after cooled Turbo charger; I will add that.
The super charger fails to impress.

    Thanks,
If the dealer can`t do it; I`ll buy the MAF and do it myself.

A lot of us are the same. We can take a `55 Chevy apart; and have the room to take a nap in the engine compartment.

I pop the hood on the taco and ask what is that?
Reading the shop manual will help.
I should be a lot smarter next month.

It`s an 06. I could use a little global warming.
It has been warming since the last ice age. Gore is not only a Commie, fat and ugly but wrong.

    I rest my case.

Well I remember it only hitting 80F one or two days/summer when I was growing up. Now it hits 90-100F SEVERAL times, even for a week or more at a time. Maybe there is something to this global warming! Especially when my grandfather has pictures of 12ft high snow banks around the same area, and we've never had those in my life time. At least not around here.

Then again, it dropped to record lows 2 winters ago (-25F to -29F), and parts of upstate NY got more than 6ft of snow over just a few days.

So I just think our weather patterns are f-d up in general.

NY skies are always over cast and cloudy. One of the reasons I liked being in SC. I could actually see the sun unlike the majority of my 25 years in NY.

i may be a lefty and all.....but i think the "global warming" is at least partly due to earth's cycles. we were breaking records here in NC that were set back in the late 1800's...so doesnt that prove that something was going on then as well? we werent completely destroying the place back then, so why was it that hot? thank you thank you...haha

If you can control the climate; please send some to the midwest.
