Hiya oldies! I'm only 38, however a good portion of my drinkin' buddies are either 60+ or nearly there. I'm not sure what that means, but I'll tell you this, I shake hands, I don't bump. I listen to Rock music not Hip Hop. I know what coca cola used to taste like. I refer to my friends as buds or pals, not my homies or crew. Funny how it seems I relate more to my Dad who's 62 than to my son who's 19. Anyone else ever experience this?

I'm there with you on most of this ... (add in Country music w/ the Rock). Must be why I keep dropping by this thread. Plus, I've always found you can learn a lot with a little respect and an open ear/mind. Just so you know you're not alone. ;):)

guess comes under the heading-chit happens !

he contacted me, suggested I send the carb to the guy that got the one I bought, and that guy could would send me the carb he received.

NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! that would take it out of protection of e-bay, and pay pal. if I'd ship carb out, and not receive the other carb I'd be SOL!!!!
I may not be the smartest, but as the old saying goes-mama didn't raise no fool ! :D wouldn't have a problem with this, if everyone was honest. BUT!!!!!

This old boy is 62, however I know I'm not that old because my wife occasionally says "oh, grow up"! Married 40 years, two great children, still working. Feel like I was lucky enough to grow up in the best of best times, 1950's, 1960's. Expecting delivery of my first Tacoma in about a week. Have had a GMC Jimmy, Toyota 4Runner in the past. Really looking forward to the Taco! Thanks for starting this thread fellow baby boomer!

Hi Paul...Welcome:wave: in to the friendliest thread on TW...always plenty of room on the porch for another rockin' Chair...lots of great people here, young and old youngsters alike...Congrats on getting a new Taco...you'll have to review it for us:).

Sometimes us older kids can be a pain in the patoot, but we are a wealth of knowledge and appreciate a youngster that knows about values:)...I had an awaking many years ago when I started treating my 25 year old son as a friend and not my son and it made a big difference in both our relationships with each other... I can even talk to him and he listens(to a degree...he bought a Jeep Cherokee and is on the jeep forum:cool:...)Stop on in anytime and chat for awhile...
Hope you get the job Mark...the waiting will probably be more difficult than the interview...Good Luck, I'll keep my fingers crossed too...

Hi Susan...we got a few Air Force fellas on here...we are a diverse bunch...The 60's were the best...first car, first blind date, first speeding ticket, first night parking on a date, first time getting the date home late, last time dating that girl:facepalm:...those were the days...Ken

Learned to drive on my dad's '64 Ford Galaxy 500. 289 CUI, std shift on the column. First car I owned was a '63 Ford Custom 500. 6 banger, shift on the column. It was pretty "spartan". You guys know, AM Radio was the best option. Grew up about 30 miles south-east of Pittisburgh so that old AM radio listoned to a lot of those oldies but goodies. Later in life I taught both of my kids to drive standard shifts and they loved it.

Mark that is great news. Glad the interview went well.

Welcome Paul, I agree the 50's and 60's were a decent time to grow up.

I started to paint the hallway today. Sanded down the drywall after i had to have it repaired after the flange in the tiolet was replaced. I can do a lot of stuff but drywall is not one of them. I swear it is an art form to have a repair look invisible.

I was able to get the headlights apart as I started on the HID retrofit yesterday. I probably will not work on them again till next Monday.

We also ordered a refurbished Dell PC this morning. It was a decent deal on an i7 2600, 16GB ram, 500GB HD, DVD and Blu-ray drives. Opted to pick up Office 2010 Pro from another retailer for 69% less than Dell. Our upstairs PC is dying a slow and painfull death. It is about 8 years old now. This will be a nice upgrade.
