Sooo I'm looking to get new tires so I can put my wheels and lift on. Naturally, my first pick was the Duratracs but they are just too expensive right now. So I started looking at the AT2's. Well of course they are on backorder with no expected delivery date.

So my dilemma is do I wait for the Grabbers? Are they worth waiting for? Most everyone here talks about the Duratracs or BFG's.

Are the Duratracs really worth $50 more a tire?

The Duratras are great tires. Although I paid only $640 OTD for mine a few years ago when they first came out. I've got close to 40K on mine and they're still going strong. I'm not sure if I will get them again though seeing as how the price has skyrocketed.

General make a good tire but they ware out quick. I had a set but ran them on the street more than off road. I have used BFG and get better wear. At this time i have Firestone Destenation AT ( i traded for them ) and sofar so good. I'm not a big fan of Firestone at all, but these seem to be solid.

60,000 mile warranty on the AT2's. Hopefully they get more in soon. I'm also looking at the Micehlin LTX AT2's. They are highly rated and are also warranted for 60,000 miles. They are about $40 more a tire.

I've had my AT2's since Oct '10 (about 9k miles now) and they held up very well through all the ice and snow we see in the Pacific NW. AT2's are a great tire however the Duratrac looks more aggressive (if that's your thing) and the tread pattern looks more "capable" than that of the AT2, IMO.

My local tire distributor has 80+ in stock here on the west coast. Just got to a tire shop in your area and tell them American Tire Distributors (ATD) has them in stock. I'd say I'd ship them to ya but it would be outrageous to UPS them across the country

Your best bet is to call General. I did this when I was looking to buy tires and the size I needed they were on backorder as well.

They told me they had not been produced in the last 4 months and that they can look into production stats for the next three months. They stated they were not slated for production in the next three months either.

So I gave in and went with the Hankook ATMs.

Each tire size and range has different build dates you have to call to get a legit answer.
