Eliminate the spacer on ProComp Stage 1

    Hey guys. I'm getting my ProComp installed soon and I have a question. Is it possible to get rid of the huge spacer and use the 5100's from the RCD kit along with Eibach springs instead? The shocks from the RCD kit are the right length for 4.5 inches of lift with factory springs and the Eibachs give 1.6 inches so I thought that together they would work with the ProComp 6 inch kit. I know I can get longer coilovers but that's overkill for a street truck. All comments welcome.

    Thanks Jay. I already have 5100's on my truck. I was planning on setting them at zero and reusing my Eibachs to help support the winch. Getting rid of the spacer just popped into my head so I posted the idea here. I don't need high end coilovers for my use and they also don't do well on Canadian salt sprayed winter roads. Can you give me thoughts as to why you don't think my idea will work?

    I don't see why you couldn't just keep your current setup. It would ride alright and if it's just being used on the street why change anything.

    I agree but it's just the spacer thing. Nobody likes them.

    That is true. I would like to get a set of coilovers for my 6 in lift but i just can't afford it at the moment. If your truck is going to be used mainly for the street there is nothing wrong with the spacer and 5100. The only reason I will be upgrading is to give me better performance offroad and to compensate for the weight of my bumper.

    Well I would certainly stick with your current set up. It seems that you've got everything you need already. Why spend the extra money? My truck rides fine the way it is but like I previously stated I would like the coilover for my needs.

    It's good that your setup works well. I'm gonna run the Eibachs, the 5100's at zero, and the spacers that come with the 6 inch. Once I put a few miles on it and realize I like it I'll move on to something else. :D
