Neither  7mgte. Still a 3.0 Turbo like the 2jz. Doesn't have as nice of a head as the jz motors. But still very capable motors. They are much more touchy then jz and require more love to keep from blowing up but if well maintained, they are better then 1jzs due to the torque they make.

Nothing is better then a 2jz lol But a well build 7m can keep up with a moderate 2j. 700hp is like  outa a 7m. you can get 600hp outa a stock 2jz with just fuel and turbo mods lol

    Most powerful 7m made 1154hp

idk what the most power 2j is..but i have seen 1400-1500-even 1600hp 2js with stroker kits...

And Ben...thought about it actually. But i would like to know the motor runs well in the car before i swap it. I wouldn't have a car or truck if i just swapped it and something bad happened.

But could be a possibility in the future :spy: take some custom mounts and drive shaft...Prolly have to get the tranny and transfer case overhauled to take the power and a custom bell housing...Unless i can use the R154 with the transfer case...which i don't know...Would be perfect for a pre runner and LT!

no way im hell it would be a bolt on mod but it would be sweet. I've considered adding a turbo but it's not cheap

So..500hp?..not outa question :D My dream is to Twin charge it with a SC and 60-1 Turbo...

But ill still turbo it no matter what at some point. Double the Hp easy with that.

Its not as cheap as SCing it with a TRD but you don't have that option anyways.

Yours would actually be kinda easy to do as you are an I4 and not a V6. Getting a header made would be easy. Could run 4psi outa like a 46mm or 57mm turbo with a piggy back fuel computer and some more fuel mods and you'd be fine i bet.

What I'm gonna do at first. Then ill eventually just go full stand alone ECU.

They don't cancel school for anything less than an act of god, like Noah's flood or your instructor is eaten by a whale.

Dude my 7m will be WAY louder then that and the turbo whine will be crazy loud. Ill have 3'' strait pipe from the turbo back lol And a divorced waste gate..it'll howl man haha

A V8 swap wouldn't be a bad idea either. I always though swapping in one of the new tundra 4.6l V8s would be perfect.

And yea it would be super fun man! too bad i don't have the funds right now and you weren't closer! I would snagged the Turbo kit that guy was selling instate already..coulda had it turboed by now...lol

everyone loves first hand pictures! here was my day.

Today was my local resort's (bogus basin) opening day. After being devoid of snow for the whole winter thus far, bogus got dumped on the last few days and it was a fantastic pow day. At least a foot and a half of heavenly fluffy snow. It was such a great day:yay:

the road driving up, it is 16 miles up hill, and it was icy, snowy, narrow, and snowing pretty hard, so greatly reduced visibility. great fun, i still enjoy driving in snow:D

    before

after, there was atleast 10 inches of snow during the day. No pic, but the bed was almost full of snow

in the time i spent clearing all of the snow off the truck so i could drive it, i helped push out 3 stuck cars (no tow strap so i couldn't drag them out), and watched 4 more attempt to move/get un stuck. I just shook my head as i watched them, this type of weather is no place for a 2wd. After i got all of the snow cleared off i put it in drive, and poof! It just crawled along without even a spin (even with my baldish tires), dam that felt good haha. After driving through all of the snow and crap weather today words cannot express how much i love this truck and how glad i am that i bought it:bowdown:

lol driving into boise wednesday morning (the day we had the first real snow storm of the year) and i was doing 10 mph almost the entire way, it was really boring so i had a long text conversation while i slowly crawled down the highway with my friend who happened to be about 3 miles ahead of me. What normally would be a 15-20 min drive was over an hour. fun

I posted pics and a little summary of the day about half way down the last page. But the 4x4 compared to me street queen? Does 4wd make you invincible? No, but compared to my last truck I felt pretty dam invincible lol. As you can imagine it was night and day difference. I never once had a thought of slipping or getting stuck. In my last truck I would have feared for my life lol. And I would have spent 20 minutes atleast at the end of the day digging my self out. There were a few 2wd trucks and suvs around me trying to get out and it wasn't going well for them. One dude was digging a way out with a hockey stick lol
