Alright so I'm in a predicament! Here's a little backstory...
So the dealer told me my 2012 was in and gave me the green light to sell my Audi so I did just that. After I sold the Audi the day after they came back with "Oh, we so fudged up! It wasn't your truck, they actually haven't built it yet...should be in late March/April! Our bad!"
So I'm overseas and i't hard to get these things in so...WHAT WOULD TACOMA WORLD DO?!?! They gave me an option, a really freakin good deal on a 2011 TRD Off Road Double Cab in Black, Silver, Super White, and Mag Grey or I can just wait it out for a 2012 same model probably in freaking April! The way I look at it, with all the knowledge on the 2011s I'd be good to go to do whatever I want when compared to the new 2012s but that is just cuz its that new so far.

So what is your opinion? What would you do? Really freaking good deal on a 2011 or Wait it out on a 2012?

Since they eff'd up, they should still give you a good deal on a 12. Any dealer that still has the 11's on the lot will be giving out good deals just to get rid of them to make room for the 12's. My opinion, wait for the 12! I could have bought either one but love the new features of the 12's!

What kind of Audi did you have, I sold my B6 S4 Avant to buy my new truck!

Had the '10 A3 S-line with every sweet option available...of course in lava grey pearl, which is why I'm leaning towards the mag grey metallic. If I do get the '12 they'll be giving me the reg '11 price.

Nice color choice! My S4 was Nogaro blue, the Lava Grey is a sweet color tho. I love the MGM on these trucks!

Well good luck, but if you can I"d hold out for the 12, you won't be disappointed!

Hmmm...decisions decisions! I think I may just snatch up the 2011. I really do like the interior of the 2012s though. Anybody figure that they may be pretty interchangeable?

For me, the 2011 would need to be 15% less expensive than the 2012, assuming the same configuration.

Lava Gray is a great color. I just got a Magnetic Gray - great color but the paint seems thin and soft.

Would be nice if it was that much less expensive but these guys I'm buying from are the only Toyota dealer in Europe that imports the US spec Tacoma since I sure as hell don't want a fugging ugly Hilux.

I would say to wait for the '12, but I know it will be a looong wait since you already sold your car. Maybe you can buy a beater to get around in until your truck gets in. I think if you get the '11 now, you will regret it later. The interior on the '12 will be worth the wait.

What options/color for the '12 did you order?

On a side note, why did you get rid of the 2010 A3? I just picked up a 2012 A6 Supercharged 3.0, love this car!!

I got rid of the Audi just cuz I'm pretty quick to change taste with vehicles...and the Tacoma was supposed to be in two weeks ago but the Audi sold and then the dealer came back with "Oh crap, that's not your truck...they actually haven't built it yet. Sorry."

As for ordering of the truck, I pretty much just have choice of color cuz they'll all be coming in in either auto/manual in the TRD Off-Road package and everything else is the same cuz that's all they have set up to order these days. Kind of a bummer cuz I 'built" my Audi and the factory made it and shipped it. The Tacomas these guys get here only come one of a couple ways, only difference is colors and transmission.

Hey Darci, have you seen the 2012s yet, like in person? How do you like your 2011?

Ok, based off of the fact that you change vehicles often, I would say definitely wait for the '12...if you get the '11 you will probably end up wanting to change it out for something with more "gadgets" sooner than you would the '12.

I have seen the '12 in person...I do like them, especially the interior. They were not out yet when I got my '11.

I was deployed as a contractor for a year in 2010. I ordered my 2011 right before I got home. Picked it up in NC, was the only way I could get factory JBL/Bluetooth in my area (VA). Same as you, I couldn't "order" it the way I wanted. I could only pick from the ones they had coming in with the options I wanted. I could change minor things like side steps and such...

As far as how do I like my 2011? I love it...I pretty much ordered every mod for it except the Supercharger while I was gone. I had a 2007 DC Short bed TRD Offroad 4x4 Auto before I got this one. I really decided I needed the long bed, but loved every other thing about my 2007.

I would love to get a '12 in Superwhite, but I already have a ton of money into mine and it would be too much trouble to swap everything over...

Wait for the 2012, you won't regret it!! I waited 4 1/2 months for my A6!!

    What color do you want?
