hahahaha. Sad but true. I drove my fiancee's Subaru Legacy around instead. That thing is a beast in the snow/ice. I love the new studded Nokian Hakka 7 tires I got her for the winter. I climbed any hill that I wanted. I live on a hill and it's fun to watch people attempt all the hills. I used to help but I've gotten tired of people that shouldn't be driving around when there's a layer of ice on the road. Nothing has melted around my house and we received about an inch of ice yesterday.

On a side note my tracking number says my rear differential should be here today so I can put my truck back together. I still have no clue where the hell my tires are. They reshipped them on Monday but not tracking number or anything.

I think I might have to just go with 40s.

On a side note, I got back from whistler a few days ago which sucked. They got a measly 2" of snow while we were there. It was like boarding on ice. We tried to stay at the summit and hit the north slopes as much as we could but even those were crusty and beat up. I should have stayed here and went to Baker. They got dumped on.

Whistler confuses me. It seems to be really hit or miss with snow there. Is it the location or something? Like when they had the Winter Olympics up there there was hardly any snow, yet I've been there in April and got dumped on.

It's a hit and miss. We've been going there for 5-6 years and we've had awesome years and crappy. This year and last year were crappy. Last year it rained on us. This year seems to be a late season. No one anywhere has really gotten any snow until now. This will be my last trip to Whistler though. It's too expensive. I rather go to Big Sky.

Whistler is beautiful, but you're right it is too expensive to go there, especially with the unpredictable weather.

Then again the only time I was there was when I drove up there with a Honda Civic like 4 years ago from San Diego. I think another trip is in order in the near future. ;)

The gas isn't the issue. Lodging, food, and activities are the expensive stuff. A lift ticket is 107 bucks. Bring your own booze if you go to Canada. They tax everything heavily there. A fifth of Grey Goose Vodka is 60 bucks plus tax; it's 30 here. I'd love to go mountain bike there. Just need to get a few guys together and head up there.

I'm only 20, I'd probably get into trouble if I tried to bring alcohol to Canada. :p

But damn that is expensive!

It's 19 but you'll be fined in the US since you're still a minor. They won't let you cross the border with alcohol unless you're 21 regardless if you're going into the US or Canada.

I'm with you on Whistler cost during the winter, it's just too expensive for the unpredictable weather, when the whole purpose of the trip is for good snow. Out of the last 6 years of an annual snowboard trip, only 1 year have we had good snow, the other 5 have been terrible.

Now mountain biking is a different story. It's cheaper with a triple pass and it doesn't matter if the weather sucks. Between Whistler and now Stevens, there are great downhill options available. There's another Seattle TW member that rides, we could easily get some guys to go up this summer.

We normally don't allow people to have anything to drink because most of the time the MD's don't want people to have anything in their system if they end up in surgery

That's with tax. Before tax I think it's like 96 or so. We had Warren Miller buy one get one free coupons so that made the ticket price easier to swallow. There's also the edge card if you are from Washington.
