I am working on installing my OME lift kit. I got the front installed last night, but I ran into a few issues while trying to get the leafs installed. The forward bolts on the existing leafs will not be coming off without cutting them. Does anyone know what size bolts those are? I assume they need to be grade 8?

Also the new Dakars are labeled 'A' and 'B'. The 'A' is the drivers side?

I did some searching, but am at work and don't have the time to read all the different threads to find that info.

I am sure other have had this issue, so hopefully someone can chime in!

Yeah, I had the same problem. We cut the bolts and went to the hardware store for new grade 8 bolts. I can't remember the size now though.

SO maybe I have older springs- but where did you find the A or B?? Cause I don't see any such markings on mine...so are the older versions not side specific??

Brunes, The 'A' and 'B' are in the part number that is stamped on the leaf spring itself. When I searched before the install I remember someone saying that is fixes the sideways lean that a lot of Tacoma's have. Not sure if that is true or not though.

I guess I will just have to cut the bolt apart and then figure out what I need. I live in a small town, so hopefully they have that size at our local hardware store!

There's a code or whatever and at the end of the code there's A and B. I put mine on the wrong side and had bad taco lean  When I swapped them to the correct sides it did help with the taco lean.

If I remember correctly, it's the old bushing in your stock leaf pack that causes theses problems. Good luck!

The photo posted earlier is not a photo of Tacoma springs. They are an older style OME spring for what I think is a Land Cruiser. The front springs (bottom two in that photo) have no overload leaf. The top two springs are the rear springs that have an overload.
