The thing I hate with the heli is when the battery dies you lose control and the heli goes crazy

You should land before that point, you should have a LED (red on my MCX) that starts blinking, that signals your voltage is dropping. And it's better/easier on your batteries not to discharge until completely dead.

I use a timer, and do not go over the prescribed time of the flight. The electric helis produce a a lot of heat, so try to keep time around 5 to 6 minutes. I am still learning so am no way a pro, still learning on coaxial helicopters.

You shouldn't be dropping LiPo batteries much below 3.7 volts per cell. They last much longer that way, but if you drop them below 3V per cell, they tend to go on thermal runaway and bye bye battery, along with your helicopter, or other toy.

You should never be hitting LVC. It hurts on my mCPX anyways, which already doesn't have enough power for my liking.

Oh also, words of advice to those of you guys who fly helis with tail motors...

let your poor helicopter cool :) It doesn't seem like it but the little tail motors get burned out very easily. I had 4 packs, flew my old mSR back to back to back packs, burned out my tail motor on the first night owning it.

Is it sad that my big helicopter barely fits in the back seat of my truck?

Meh, I would, but too sick and tired right now. Roomate gave me his cold, plus I didn't get home from flying until 5am. Haven't gotten much sleep. Gonna crash out for a bit and maybe go to the bar tonight.

What size is it? A buddy just built a 600, looks like you could ride it. Also I agree on the tail rotor getting hot, plus there are/were known problems with the rotor motors on the MSR and SR120.

My big one is a 600E. 12S (50V) Scorpion motor, Compass 6HV flybarless head, microBeast gyro, castle cremations esc, MOD1 main gear, its a beast... can fly like its on wires, but can easily be tossed around.

I also have a Trex 500, Trex 250, mSR, mCPX, a few planks laying around as well.
