our buddies at HRT motorsports run 13 D2's on their roof and they work amazing.

just out of curiosity, whats the advantage to a bunch of the D2's vs using just a long single bar? Seems like it would be cheaper for the 1 bigger light and you wouldnt have to deal with a shit load of wiring.

i was thinking that too, but the larger LED's come in a flood and it looks to me that it spreads pretty darn far, at least from what their diagram shows. w/e its a cool truck regardless :p

couldnt tell you exactly why they chose that setup, im guessing because they have the ability to move the lights around where they like, they might have already had them from previous projects ect... if you add up all those dualy's technically they put out 33,800 lumens compared to a 50" light bar that puts out 19,750 lumens. Having a full Race shop always make things much easier to ahaha HRT is a big name in the sand rail/dualsport industry and todd and his son were some of the top competitors in SXS racing when it was popular.

heres another example for RATR in laughlin the lights were no longer on the roof they moved them onto the bumper and what not.

Plus it is redundant. One switch/relay/fuse goes out and you will still have plenty of light.

i would think they are all to 1 switch right? since leds are very low power? i have 5 hids to 1 switch but i have dual relays etc

no, like MXpatriot said one switch to 5 lights would be dumb, if your switch, fuse, relay, or wiring gets fucked up your out 5 lights.

now if you have 15 d2's like that dodge has, 1 switchs per 5 lights would be cool.

It doesn't take much to turn on a relay. He's not running the lights through the switch. The lights run through the relay(s) and the switch just turns on the relay(s).

I'm assuming he's using standard 30/40 amp relays. And he did say he's running more than 1 relay above. But it only takes ~150 miliamps to turn on the relay. Even if he's running 4 relays, that's not even 1 amp through the switch.

Didn't read much, but dont bother with relays for auxiliary lights (def fuses though).
