$1000 For Mods, What To Do??

Bonuses are coming soon and I'm limiting myself to spending $1000 of it on my Taco. Truck is mostly a mall crawler (literally, I oversee a mall!) with weekend getaways on mild trails. As she sits: bone stock DC TRD O/R 4x4 with CB radio.

Was thinking sliders, grill lights (mounted behind Homer Taco's grill), maybe replace the cheap factory speakers...

Recommendations??!! Best bang for my buck??!!

Grill lights are pretty bad ass.
Can't go wrong with a nice head unit and new speakers

A good mall crawler always has a shiny set of wheels. Although I may be worried about theft if it sat in a mall all day. Do you have a secure parking lot?

 

Yep, I park right where 1 of our cameras scroll - I can pull up the camera from my office and check on it. That and I have 1 or 2 security vehicles patrolling all day.

get rid of the Rugged Trails and get bigger tires

 

Honestly, since you do like to hit trails... I'd invest personally in some proper armor. At the minimum any rig that sees a trail now and then should have some good sliders and at minimum a good front skid from a rep vender, be it Bud, AllPro, or otherwise. In my 2008 PreRunner just having the AllPro IFS skid saved my ass when I got a little cocky out in the desert a few times.

Cheap investments to keep the truck looking new and protected, plus it doesn't make it scream "mall crawler" anymore, even if it is

 

I just spend 1000 on my truck and i went with a new grille(satoshi) lights for behind the grille sliders and HID kit for the fogs and headlights and the smitty built seat covers that have a molle rack and storage. I say lift that bad boy though!

 

Sliders, then buy silver with the rest.

 

Being in a mall parking lot, if you do sliders they might help against lower sitting vehicles and dings? You do mild trail rides so get some bolt on versions.

 

Tires! Tires! Tires! Def get some new shoes.

 

sliders change the look of your truck IMHO but in a good way! satoshi the grill.. while your at it do the BHLM.. get yourself some trail gear.. get some weathertechs best thing i got for my truck thus far..

 

Couldn't notice change to much until after I put on tires then it looked better. I started with bull bar driving lights black headlights eyelids 2 inch lift hood protector vent visors then stepbars and it still didn't stand out until I piut on the tires.

 

Satashi is on order from HomerTaco, and I've got Husky's in there now (from my previous Taco). Leaning towards sliders and recovery/camping gear.

 

I like the larger/more aggressive tires you have - definitely changes the look. I've only got about 3000 miles on my Taco, so I'm going to wear these tires out. When that time comes, I'll drop some $ on a full-on lift and some big feet to fill the gap!

 

I took mine off after 6 thousand miles sold them and the wheels for 600.00. Paid 900 for my new ones so the offset was only 300 dollars. Figured I would sell the stock ones while o could still get some good money for them to help pay for what I wanted. Thanks Firestone MT .

 

I would go sliders and some skids, or a plate bumper. But thats me .

 

The first thing I bought was, vent shades, floor mats, and seat covers. Which set me back about $300.00.
More recently, I got new shocks, tires, and driving lights...

 

Since you have a '11 I'm guessing you prob still owe some money on it. Why not put that money towards paying off the truck?
