i now believe that i was given the wrong parts for my fogs and turn signals. everything is installed and now i just need to wire the fogs and indicators up and it will be done!

i have a regular cab tacoma so my truck did not come with the factory fog lights and it appears the kit 4wp's supplied to me is for trucks that have a factory harness. already in place:facepalm::bananadead:

i need to know if arb sells or even makes an honest to goodness harness for their fog lights / turn signals that will be a complete wiring solution for the lights? i have the switch and switch cover but the harness is incomplete at this point leading me to have no lights and or signals.

I got this from trdparts4u.com in reguards to the arb bumper. Maybe it will help.

For vehicles without factory fitted fog lights, parts # MD02, 180209 and 180215 are required.

md02 is the wiring loom, 180209 is the switch base and 180215 is the switch cap

i have the switch and the switch cover those part numbers are correct, but 4wp's struck again they sent me the completely wrong parts even after i supplied them with the correct ones three times...

lol this bumper was my "final compensation" as they put it. so i will try to call them on monday to see if they can send me the right parts so i can finish the install but, i'm not holding my breath.

I doubt any of it will be as neat and pretty as you would like. I had the factory foglamps, but the wiring that comes from ARB is not a direct connection. IIRC, the blinker and parking lamp had a real harness with a connector, then a mating connector that had wires coming out the back. Had to use those clip/splice things to hook into the truck lights. ARB foglamps just had a couple wires hanging out the back. I had to extend them then splice them into the factory foglamp harness. Oh, and the wiring information that came with the bumper was pretty pointless. I pretty much had to figure it out on my own. The truck wire colors did not match the provided wiring info.

The short answer is no. ARB does have a foglight kit, but it is not one you can plug into something and it works perfect. The fogs will have to be tapped into some how, or you can cut the harness off and straight wire it. As for the turns and marker lights. I chose not to go that route. I did not see the huge benefit to have them if all the lights work on my truck. Plus the Tacoma is wired so odd you have to make your own ground to get it wired the best way possible. People have had issues when they try to hook the wires right into the factory marker/ turn lights harness. I spoke to ARB USA for about 45 minutes one day about all the questions I had. They are pretty cool about assisting you with your install or electrical questions and it is the correct answer as they are who design them and they know what the best way to go is. It is an easy call, and the guy was cool too he was a wheeler, good dude, helped clear it all up for me.

alright i just recieved the wiring loom for the fogs part# MD02 and now my question is how do i wire the turn signals and can i get the dtrl function out of them?

the fog wiring seems to be no different than any other stand alone auxilary light harness. you still have to tap into the headlight or parking lights for the fogs to work and stuff. both my vision-x leds and my hella lights i had to do the same thing how does this MD02 harness differ in this respect?

so to clarify things i do not have any preexisting wiring for the fogs and i do not have factory dtrl's either.

i want to hook all three up i want dtrl's to increase visibility and the fogs as well the turn signals are there so i want to hook them up as well.

any tips or advice on the instal would really help me out here.

i want to hook the fogs up to the low beam headlight wire so they function as they would from the factory and because i have nothing hooked into the low beam yet.

my running light have the ccfl rings for my retrofit and the hella 1000 black magics going to them so i don't want to hook any thing else to them. and my high beams have the vision-x led's on them so i don't want to go hooking more stuff to them. the low beam is currently not being used to i need to know if anyone has an idea on what is the power wire on the drivers side low beam and also where to hook the turn signals to so i can make the dtrl feature and the signals work?

    sorry for the long post

ok as of now the running lights and the turn signals are hooked up which was actually very easy...

the retarded part is the MD02 harness i have sitting here. every connection is made and good to the fogs them selves and to the battery and the ground the inline fuse is seated properly as well.

i was told however i would have an extra connector that i would not need and i should cut it off one wire going into it is black and one wire is red the connector as of now is cut. where and with what wire do i make an actual connection to my factory headlights?

i need to know what to do with the wires i cut off? anyone with experience using arb's retarded wiring loom feel free to help as i'm ready to give up right at the end here.

There are 2 sections to the harness. One you splice into the factory harness and the other is already attached to the light. The 2 ends clip together (see pic). I hope this helps.

Not sure I have that other part. Do most people splice into the side marker lights or DTRL/blinkers?

My ARB has no fogs so that's out.

For my blinkers I connected the white plug in to the other white plug in and then used one of these [IMG] to tap into the factory wiring specified in the install instructions.

    Finally fit indicator/parker light
loom extension to light and wire to
vehicle main light loom using scotch
    locks as per table.

FUNCTION. INDICATOR HARNESS. VEHICLE COMBINATION LAMP
    ------------------------------------------RIGHT---------------LEFT
    INDICATOR----- GREEN----------------GREEN / YELLOW---GREEN/BLACK
    EARTH-----------BLACK----------------WHITE/BLACK------WHITE/BLACK
    PARK LAMP------RED-------------------GREEN--------------GREEN

If you have ARB fogs AND had factory find a way to tap into the stock wiring.

If you have ARB fogs and no factory fogs/wiring run new wire to a relay and then a switch. Simple.
