I got a set of the falkens in 285's and all was well at 10k miles but around 15..they've become almost impossible to balance..and thats with rotating and balancing every oil change

Ive had a bad expieriance with a belt shift in the falken low-pro tires on my maxima. I'll never buy falkens again

I love my dynapro's , but my truck is pretty much a daily nothing special.

But its a good all around tire , and you cant beat the price.

Ive had mine for about 6 or 7k now. Still look like new

used to work at discount tire, the dynapro AT is an all around better tire. its lighter, will last longer and (correct me if i'm wrong, its been a while since i worked there) and has a better warranty than the falken. realistically falkens are pretty low grade tires. but if you can swing it, every person i've talked to with toyo open country A/Ts has loved them

FYI, Hankook is a S. Korean product based in Seoul, but yes they do have a few production facilities in China.

OP, I personally went with a set of Nitto Terra Grappler's & love the look/performance but between your final two I would most definitely choose the Hankook's. I have heard alot of good things about them, and I most likely would have got them myself had I not got a great deal on the Nittos.

Have you looked at or considered Yokohama Geolander ATS? They look much better in person, they are lighter than most tires and seem to last according to my research. I'm considering them vs Nitto's.

I do like the look of the Falkens. I've ran Falkens before but not an AT, only street tires and they seemed to be hard to balance and didn't wear that good. That scares me toward them, but the AT may be totally different? :notsure:

The Geolandars are actually quite heavy if you jump up to 265/75/16's. P rated stock size are 37# and go up to 50# for a D load LT tire. I ran these for a few weeks and didn't really care for them because of the weight among other reasons. Just for reference I have C load Duratracs now and they weigh in at 45#.

Damn, I haven't looked at the other sizes, just from the 265 70 16 which I'm looking to run were barely any heavier than the stock Dunlops, by 1 lb. I can't believe how that little size difference affects the weight. But that is one of the reasons I'm staying with the 70's.

Another vote for the Dynapro's. Mine have 44k on them and tread depth is still 9-10 32nds. (265-70-16 LT)

Falkens are Thai not Japanese... and Hankooks are South Korean, not Chinese...

Hankook Dynapro ATM 265/75-16 fit right on, no rub and add 1/2" of ground clearance and make the speedometer read correctly!

Yah weird... I guess they farm out when they need more than the home plant can produce? I have also seen Toyos with Made in China on them, but mine were made in Japan.
