    Look, it's a respect thing to me, mostly for the military guys and their families, they volunteer and serve our country, by taking off my hat it's a way of showing respect, I do not agree with a lot of what this government does but this has nothing to do with politics.

    This is part of the problem- 'just cause it is' isn't an acceptable explanation for why I, or anyone, should do it.

    Niether one of those two acts- removal of hat, placing hand on heart- prove that someone 'respects' the flag. And not doing those things hasnt nothing to do with repsect either.

    Every single male in my family, including uncles and cousins, has worn or is still wearing that flag on a uniform- Army, Navy, Air Force and several PDs. There are more patriots at my family's Thanksgiving dinner that at a New England football game- and none of us pay any mind to the hand on the heart, hat off bullshit(with the exception of when we're at work, cuz its policy :rolleyes:). Because thats what it is- bullshit.
