I think I set my cell phone or a couple things on the shift boot in my truck the other day by accident (dark, in a hurry, couldn't see) and I'm guessing it may have been too much weight or something because the boot fell through. Normally no issue, just pop it back into place..however, at least one of the little plastic "clips" that holds the boot in place broke and now it's just laying there and will not mount up. Not a BIG deal, but I would like to have it fixed.

Has anyone ever had this happen? Is there a cheap fix for that? I'm wondering if its a matter of replacing the whole cupholder trim and everything to fix it but I was hoping it will be something cheaper...thanks in advance!

Try just plastic welding something in place to hold it up where the existing clip was.

You know what they say. ;P haha. I love it when people use duct-tape to fix ANYTHING on their car. Especially on the outside. Makes it look funny. I LOVE it when they use print duct tape with zebra stripes and such. :)

Or... the only thing you need is WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it moves and it shouldn't, duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, WD-40.

I know it's not the best pic but the piece I circled is what broke off on the other side. I'm assuming the cost to get that replaced is way more than its worth ESPECIALLY since.....

I was messing with it earlier and got it to stay in place so I'm hoping that will be the fix I need and I didn't even have to use glue or rubber bands or even duct tape :D. Thanks for all the replies though!

Are you still under warranty? I did the same thing with mine except I got it replaced under warranty. The dealershiP didn't even try to argue with me they just fixed it no questions asked

If it's the same truck that's in his info the warranty might be expired since it's five years old, unless he got the extended one.
