Can you get a bigger pic?

Are you using bass boost? It's best to leave that a lone...

PM'd regarding your levels :D You can blow the picture up and see the levels. Lets just say its taken care of Tacomanator... LoL He had em kinda jacked.

Left to right, LEVEL, BASS EQ, HPF and LPF. Level and Bass EQ were cranked. I'm pretty impressed that the speakers aren't blown honestly... LoL

it could be the subs were not wired correctly to get the full potential of the amp. from what I was looking at, wired @ 4 ohms to ea. channel, he's only giving them 125w, if he wires the subs to 2 ohms, he can give them 250w from ea channel or wire them to read out 4 ohms total to bridge for 500w. I find it odd that CVTs that are able to push 400w ea. are getting distorted from a 500w rms amp.
I feel you on the gain part, some just crank that SOB to hell!!!

woah, thats hard to tell from that picture. I don't know anymore, never seen knobs with a philips head. I'm hoping theres a beveled edge to one side to indicate position.

Distortion is usually the amplifier though, not the subs. Subs will distort if they are overexcurted (I think I just made up that word). 10s will do it very easily if the crossover is too low, but it would still require some power behind them.

I did just notice that he has a subsonic filter on it according to the website he posted. If those, that will come in VERY handy with 10s

Never seen philips head nobs either...

Just set the gain the way Brian told you, leave bass EQ at 0db and HPF at 60Hz. As for the LPF, 100hz is a solid place to start. Adjust from there... That's what I would do.

FYI... your LEVEL knob, or GAIN as most of us call is it labeled for voltage inputs. You should refer to your head unit manual to figure out your voltage output. Most headunits nowadays are 3V output. If you still have the manual for the amplifier, it should be able to tell you exactly where 3V is. By the book, thats where you should start with gain, but most of us dont.

It was kinda windy and stormy.... After watching it on the comp, I'm really surprised my cell phone actually picked up some pretty clean bass until it start distorting... haha Thought RCFreak would like the song choice :D

Both videos are available in 1080p cell phone power :D Funny thing on the interior one, was I was trying to talk over the music at 35 and up, but it never heard me.

Single rockford fosgate Punch 10, shallow mount, JL 250/1 for power, Hertz Audio 6.5"s, Kicker KS13 tweeters, and JL 300/4 for component power.

Video doesn't do it justice. I'm sure it sounds good, though. I would make a video of mine, but it would only sound like all the other videos out there (distorted)

Exactly. I knew it would happen, thats why I did one from outside a few feet away... I parked in the back 40 at my work but still drew some attention. I couldn't go much farther away before I started to loose bluetooth reception though. I couldn't find any blank CDs :p

Either way, its a single 10, and its pounding.... not alot can be said for a setup like this, especially of a shallow mount.

On my laptop speakers it sounded really distorted but I connected some logitech satellite speakers and subwoofer and watched the exterior video and it gives you a good idea of how hard it hits.

Yup. It actually was pretty clean on my boses :D Sounds louder than the components, but inside the truck the components put out a bit more sound than the sub. I also forgot (since I don't crank it up too often) how much bass the 6.5's put out. My door panels were shaking... LoL

its a song called The Wrong Way by Dubkiller. rcfreak put the song on one of his wheelin vids in his build thread, thats how I found it. Bobby Reeves who used to sing for Adema is one of the two in the group.
