Hey JD, been reading a bunch of threads going stir crazy. I am about to install my Bilstein 5100's w/Eibach coils front w/.85 setting and will be lifting the rear 1.5" via aal or block Iam expecting to get the 2.5" up front and be a little high almost level in rear. What will I have to do in order to fit 285/75/16's KM2s on my stock 16" rims? I am strictly a pavement road driver no hardcore off-road..maybe a trail or two here n there. What issues of rubbing will I have with this set up and what will I have to trim? I am ok with full lock rub or similar but for my daily driving should I be concerned with rubbing? by the way I am trying to get as close to your truck as possible on a low budget thou. thanks for any info you give. You shouldn't have to trim a whole bunch. It varies by truck. I don't remember if you will need wheel spacers or not. But as far as trimming you just have to cut some of the plastic off the fender flare and splashguard and take off the mud flaps.

 

Thanks I know your truck is basically the same as mine except for the year and your lift is close as well... I have already removed the mudflaps and as far as the UCA's go should I expect any rubbing? if so ...then on go the wheel spacers correct? Do you think the KM2's are fairly quiet or would you recommend another tire? Thanks for takin the time

 

They are pretty quiet. I like them. And yes if you rub then just get wheel spacers. Your welcome man.

 

1.5" wheel spacers will be needed to clear the UCAs with 285/75R16

Thats what derek had IIRC. Im probably going to bump up to that size maybe 34s when i regear... someday lol

1.25" would probably work fine too since 265s dont touch and 285s are only 1/2" wider on each side.

 

Yea I use the spidertrax 1.25" spacers. Most on here buy those.

Bought a silver grille and stock roofrack (thanks Ray). Also painted the fenders silver finally.


Added my tire carrier back in. Bought a toolbox and mounted it to the bed. Also mounted my air compressor in the toolbox and wired it to my fuse block. Other new bed additions include speedtech rear lights and a stubby antenna for my radio so I don't have to put a hole in the fenders.

Exactly! And I promise I will make it down for a meet to SD before summer. Whether it be an offroad trip or just fiesta island or something. Haven't seen some of you in a long time!

I am doing a mix between about 2 or 3 bumpers. Kind of hard to explain through text. But it will/should be pretty sweet. Hopefully one of the most functional along with attention getter looks!
