the stock dunlaps on my 2012 double cab are TERRIBLE in snow/ice... i need some new tires pronto. can anyone comment on the conti LS 20's vs michelin LTX M/S2's? the michelins come highly recomended here on TW but at $190 a tire, they are a little more than what i was hoping to spend. the conti's look like a very comparable tire for $55 less per tire. any advice would be appreciated... i do 95% of my driving on hiway/city. looking for a good all-season tire, noise/quiet ride is a big one for me. i also need something good on snow/ice. finding a good balance is what i'm after.

Nitto Dura Grappler is very similar to the LTX M/S based on tread design and siping. Performs well in snow and ice as well.

Goodyear fortera Triple Tread is in second place behind the Michelin on the tire rack reviews.

Treadwright's would be a little loud for what he's after.

UPDATE: i just had the M/S2's installed. UNBELIEVEABLE improvement over the stock dunlaps on snowpacked city streets and wet pavement. my anti-lock breaks were kicking in constantly with the dunlaps- not any more! i'm very happy with the new michelin's. on the dry interstate, i didn't notice much different- maybe slightly quieter, but not much different. on dry city streets, i feel like they just grab quite a bit better. i initially thought that maybe my new double cab was just a lot heavier than my '98 tacoma and it didn't drive as well on snow/wet pavement. not the case- now it drives like a tacoma should drive!
