I agree. Not that i don't like hunting and such. But Archery is WAY more fun and challenging. And i love shooting skeet and trap.

Really? You ever seriously need this for a life threatening situation?? come on...thats ridiculous. Half that time you ever get into that kind of situation..gonna be to late anyways.

I would respect the bear in the first place and quietly leave the area. Or have a nice can of pepper spray if i knew i was in bear country and i wouldn't want to kill a bear anyways. PLUS you tiny ass .357 or 9mm ain't gonna do shit to a bear but piss it off. Plus you gotta draw on a charging bear HA yea right. Least pepper sparay can be fired from the hip.

As for # two, thats simple.....drive away...duh..and i wouldn't shoot anyone either. and once again..you'd just waste time getting the gun out when instead your in a freakin truck that can move....

Well idk about you..but..im gonna make my truck move..ill run what ever i have to over. Beauty of having armor.

And okay, a big ass .44..heavy..harder to aim..your chances ain't good dude.

Trust me. I have had plenty of bear encounters. Half the time, they are scared of you especially if there is more then one of you. And if they are going through some of your shit...let em. You just leave them be.

And cougars you almost never see coming anyways..and again...thats what freakin pepper spray is for. A gun isn't gonna do shit half the time against either of those things.

Sure it'll be fun on the weekends...your shoot a way 40 bucks in ammo everyweeked  lol

Actually yes I have had to pull a gun on some one before in a situation very much like the one described above at the intersection but i was in Phoenix, AZ. He was in front of the vehicle and hopped up on meth with a crow bar. There was high curb to my left and his tow truck to my right, he broke out both of my headlights and was threatening me and my life. I called the police gave them the plate and company name then was told to do what I deemed necessary to protect my life. I put one shot into the pavement. he got in the truck and left. The police placed me under custody for discharging a firearm in city limits while he was arrested under assault and later drug charges. I was released and the charges were dropped after he was questioned. The arresting officer said I was fortunate that I had a gun and had the balls to pull the trigger because it likely saved my life. It took 4 officers to get the truck driver to the ground and into custody. Any retard can wave a gun at some one pulling the trigger is a different story. So does that answer your question?

if you shoot a bear and are lucky enough to actually hit it it will not die instantly. you will piss it off and it will still charge you. on the other hand if you have pepper spray the blast from the spray is more likely to scare it away. in recent years, pepper spray is near 100% effective in deterring the bear while guns are effective only about 2/3's of the time. I'll go with the spray.

Nope, not at all. I would either backed out, of gone forward, if that ment hitting him, so be it. Would maybe knock him to the ground and maybe even unconscious. Im not saying run over, just rev it at him. Thats just a scary to ppl as a gun. Plus you had called it in so i definitely woulda used the truck or car as a weapon more then the gun.

Also..you ain't in Phoenix anymore which is indeed a sketch place...Up here....not so much..

I'm not saying shooting people is a good idea neither is hitting them with cars but at the end of the day its self defense. Gun or pepper spray both will work just depends on the situation.

Just read your previous post too (missed it before I posted)

In the last couple of years here in MT there have been a handful of hunters attacked and killed by bears - they had guns, didn't do them any good though.

Don't get me wrong, i like guns too, not as much as you guys i think...but still do.

I just don't like the logic of it being there for "self defense" when really..its not entirely necessary for that reason. Lots of other ways around a gun for that.

And really, the only part about shooting that is fun..is the people around you having friendly competitions..thats it really.

But hey ben..if you want a gun, go for it...just remember you coulda had a TG bumper instead :p lol

Actually two people died from attacks in the park this past summer...and neither had spray or a gun.
