Rigid Industries Dually LEDs on 1st Gen

I bought a set of the Rigid Industries Dually D2 LED lights for fogs. I'm wondering if anyone has photos of their Dually LEDs on their 1st Gen Tacoma, and more specifically, '95-'97.

I'm thinking about fabricating a mounding plate/bar that will attached to the front license plate screw holes, and then extend down slightly and back to tuck the LEDs in the lower grill. What do you all think?

Just make sure your brackets are sturdy, otherwise the vibrating would be annoying. They shouldn't be too heavy though, so that helps.

If you don't mind a little constructive criticism: I would space them out to the corners of the bumper opening. Kinda looks like the truck need braces as it is now.

I just put a couple of those on a 2nd gen tonight. They're heavier than one would imagine 4 LED's would be.

Yup, I think you're right. I'll space them out to the corners.

 

Plus you want them to be theft resistant as much as possible, they are $350 a pair. Also, get the driving pattern and not the 'wide' beam. I made that mistake myself. I am going to move the wide pattern D2's to the back as aux reverse lights and reorder the driving beam.

 

I did get the D2 Driving in Amber, so we'll see. Good point about making them theft proof though. Thanks.

I haven't forgotten about this thread, I just haven't had time to fabricate a bracket, plus it's too cold in the garage to work on this. Soon.

 

I installed the Rigid Industries Dually D2 LEDs last weekend. My original plan was to create a bracket/light bar, but I just don't have the tools to fab that. I also didn't want to drill holes in my bumper in case I want to sell the truck someday. But then I got to thinking, "I'm never selling this truck so it doesn't matter".

Therefore, here's what I did. I think it looks decent. And holy cow are these bright!

 

How do you like the amber? Any pics of them turned on?

 

I don't have photos of them on, but if I did the camera would not do these justice. They are quite awesome in the dark, now I'm just waiting for snow storms and fog. These are the driving LEDs, and you could certainly drive with them and keep your headlights off. Super bright, good spread, looks great. I would buy another set if needed someday.

 

So is the amber color more like caution/emergency amber or more yellowish like a fog light?

It's most definitely orange, bright bright orange. Not yellow at all.
