    I have the p1135 code and through searching, it the sensor before the cats. Does anyone know the part number and where I can buy one?

    Just did mine, took a risk and got the sensors off ebay for 25 each with the harness, but my check engine light came back on today. I think its the throttle position sensor, but going to check the code tomorrow and will let you know.

    How long did you have it in? Did it come back immediately?

    I thought the pre-cat sensor was a air/fuel sensor and not o2?

    Hitch and wiring, aux back-up light, rear strobe lights, radio and underseat sub.
    Having a code does not always equal needing to buy a part. Troubleshoot the problem before you go out and buy stuff that may not fix the problem.

    Well I figured it was either buy 2 o2 sensors that I could pretty easily replace, or buy a new cat conv. and have to take it to a shop.

    3" lift Up front(Donahoe Racing ext. travel coil overs, Camburg UCA's), 1.5-2" lift in the back(aal and some billy 10" stroke short bodies), Bushwhacker Cut-Out fender flairs, 16"x10" Procomp Street locks, and 305/70 Procomp X-Terrains.
    I had the same code. My cat was completly clogged.... So i took the insides out of the cat and it runs smooth.

    Toytec 2.5" lift., just the beginning. Front Builstein coil-overs fully adjustable from 0-3". 2" AAL in the rear with 2.5 degree shim. Total Chaos uni-ball UCA's.
    I did the same thing on my 4cyl. Cat was clogged, took the cat off, knocked the insides out, and now I have a CEL on all the time. It's the Bank 1 sensor 2 that is throwing the code, however they don't make an O2 mod for these sensors (since they aren't screw in). I'm considering just buying a new cat, but after ordering 3 and having them all show up as the wrong part, I give up. I guess there are several different designs for the 1st gen 2.7 liter cat, and no one carries the one that i need. PITA!

    Were you trying to get direct fit bolt-on or the universal fit? I've replaced a cat on that engine and had no trouble with part confusion. This one would fit, that is if you still have the flanges on either side.

    I had ordered a direct fit, and it was the long one that they sent me (apparently the california emissions), then they sent me one that was only 12" long, direct fit as well. After spending more on return shipments than i had really wanted to spend on the cat itself, i finally gave up. They did offer to pay for return shipping on the second one in lieu of me purchasing the 17 5/8" correct one (at an additional $130) on top of the 150 i spent on the first 2 and the $40 return shipping for the first one (which took several weeks to refund). I do plan on getting another cat though.. Thanks for the link to the page.. I think that's way cheeper than the one that i had found on autopartswarehouse page.

    Internet searches range from $230 to $85 for the exact same part manufacturer and number. How is that possible? Somebody is screwing a lot of consumers.
    Anyway, I found one on Amazon for $84.99 + $2.99 S+H.
    Rockauto was $97.95 + $2.99 S+H

    I got the same P1135 code - it must be the season for sensors to go bad.

    Hello all.

    The check engine light came on my 2001 Tacoma Double Cab 4x4 SR5, V6 this weekend. I had no idea what it was related to but knew I was due for an oil change. I replaced air filter, oil filter, oil and the light went out. To double check, I stopped by AutoZone who hooked it up and got a P1135 error code. Since the light was out.. I assumed my issue was resolved. Questions:
    1) Should I play it safe and swap out the Denso since the error code is still there despite the light being out?
    2) Does the part number change given my Tacoma age/model or is it as Boersun listed above?
    OEM Denso is 89467-35060
    Replacement Denso is
    $137 234-9001 Upstream Air Fuel Ratio Oxygen Sensor with 10.6” 4-Wire Harness, for Auto Trans Equipped Vehicles
    234-9001
    3) Anyone have a step-by-step procedure for this repair? I have a tendency to make small repairs into bigger ones and would prefer to keep this simple.
