    Yes, it's dollars, it happens here all the time. A guy comes home from a year in Iraq or Afghanistan and he has $30-40k in the bank and it burns a hole in their pocket. I just finished my 4th deployment so I thought I'd get myself a nice present for making it this far with just a few scratches.

    We have a dealership that sells toyota/nissan/audi/vw exclusively to military and DoD. You can get a new 2012 out the door for about $28.5k without haggling. There's also no tax imposed when you buy it. If you bring it back to the states you are charged tax on the depreciated value. So, you have this bad ass truck, then you have a wife like mine that wants a new car and when you leave, you either sell one of our vehicles or you pay close to $3000 to ship it back to the states and then you tack on the taxes.

    This guy is taking a big loss but toys come and go. C'est la vie
