I'm dreading the day my wife says that to me. Not the part about being a dad, I'd love to hear that news, but the part about having to get rid of my toys. :( I have 3 bikes in the garage right now and will be selling one of them in the spring to get a bigger sportbike. I'd consider buying that Triumph if it had 1000 cc's! Right now I'm just waiting on the weather to warm up enough to put my dad's old Honda back together in time for him to ride with me when he comes to visit this spring!

Can anyone recommend a good body shop to paint a camper shell in the metro area? I have a black sand pearl taco and the shell is red.

If you want to convince her, take the motorcycle safety classes. Even if you know how to ride it's a great refresher, instills confidence in your significant other, and many insurance companies offer a discount if you have taken the class. Another big benefit here in Colorado is that, if you do not allready have your license, once you pass the class you can upgrade your driver's license without having to take any more tests. The class itself suffices. http://www.coloradodot.info/programs/live-to-ride/get-training.html Another way to convince her is to get a cruiser first. This way she can ride with you (once you are comfortable with your riding skills) and she can participate with you. If you want to go a step further, take the class together! :) It's a fun weekend. My wife took it and loved it even though she doesn't ride.

I hope you can convince her since I'm new here and need people to ride with! :D

I've been dying to get a bike ever since college... and haven't been able to afford one.

Hopefully soon... Definitely going to take a course like that, seems like a win-win. Do you need a bike already to do that training tho...? Seems kinda dumb if so, lol. Thanks for the link!

Ya she prefers me on a cruiser so I don't try anything as stupid as I might on a crotch rocket.

I definitely recommend the basic riders course as well!
I went through ABATE. They are nice people and they made the course fun and informative. Here is the website: http://abate.si2.com/abate/trs.nsf/courses?openform
I want to take the advanced course for sportsbikes soon.

No you do not need your own bike for the beginner course. They provide a small Honda cruiser. You cannot uses your own for this course. As you get into the advanced courses you will need your own bike. They then teach you the skills you need to be safe and comfortable on the bike you own.

Thanks!! I definitely want to start with a beginner course (I already have a permit, and know how to ride... ridden many different styles from Harley's to crotch rockets...) so I can get my license.

Do you have to redo the training or license at all, or is it just like a drivers license?

Damnit, you guys have me all excited for this stuff now. I see a bike in my near future...
