2.5" lift, ARE Shell, Ducks Unlimited Rubber Floor Mats. ROGUE badges,
    I sold my 16 yr oldbrother my POS 05 dodge 1500 2wd.

Last night when he got home I heard him pull up the drive way and then heard the motor revving up a lot and figured dumbass is going mudding.

Then It went to quick revs and I laugh to myself dumbass is almost stuck.

So I look out the window and watch him try to rock it out for about 5 minutes. Then they finally kill it and walk to the house.

My girlfriend and i found the whole thing hilarious. Face hurt from laughing so hard!

He complained that I put stupid tires on the truck that suck in the mud. I tried to explain its a 2wd mall crawler and that the 325/60/20 terra grapplers are not a mud tire. And that I would happily take them off and sell them..

I didn't feel like going outside in the rain last night but I told him today I just might pull it out with the Taco if he buys me stuff haha. And now it's rained for another 15 hours so I'm sure the dodge is sinking in that black mud.

I am going to take pics and video of the tow operation. Coming soon!!

Any help with minimal flaming is appreciated.
I have done the research and decided on the OME 886 lift, I just want to verify that someone has seen 255/85 16s fit with this lift and not rub. I have not bought the truck yet but it will be a 2011. I just wanted to triple check before I bought the lift.
    Thank You.

Minimal flaming? Take all the fun out of it... as for the lift; no impact/no idea. I'm sure somebody that knows Tacomas better will be along shortly.

255/85 is a fairly uncommon tire size. Wait for KPT to check in. He's the tire/wheel/post multiple links to threads that have your answer by a simple search, expert

    And so it begins...
I know the 255/85 is a rare breed for a tire, I plan on the KM2's if I can fit them in there with out having to cut the whole cab mount off. If I do have to it is the nature of the game and I will deal with it. I just have to do the cutting when the wife is not there to see it.

From what I've read, you will not have to cut anything if you plan on running 255/85/16 with a 3" lift. Especially if you are getting an aftermarket front bumper, which i assume you plan on since you are going with 886's instead of 885's.

That is my concern, with the OME lift you cannot adjust the lift once the springs settle from wheeling/driving (yes that is in order of priority). Wheelers is saying that you get approximately 1.75 inches of lift with the 886's and a bullbar with winch.

1.75" w/ the 886s? People get close to 3" even with a plate bumper.

Yeah, the listing of 1.75" for the 886's with a winch, and 1.75" with the 885's without a winch, are both very inconsistent with user's experiences on this forum. I'd revise both of those up to ~2.5"+.

Adam how much lift did you get with your 885's?

Not to butt in on the conversation but i've got bilstein's set to lowest height up front with 885 OME coils, on top of it I have CBI's plate bumper and i still get about 2" of lift and that's after having them settled down.

Welcome to the BS thread. Glad to have you.

And thank you for providing an example. so you have the 885's, which are designed for use without a plate bumper, and even with your plate bumper, they are giving you more than 1.75" of lift. I'm not sure where wheelers is coming up with that number....

I'm getting probably right at 3" with the top plate spacers. But I got alotta weight in the truck.

Oh God please don't let this thread turn into "will my tires fit" once they start they never seem to stop.

Thanks for the welcome! Yeah when I originally got my lift with the 885's all I had was an aries brush guard, but thanks to a deer I got the CBI bumper. I'm not sure where they got their numbers at but I think if they did some updating on them then more people would be apt to purchase them if they give more lift.
