anyone have the tools do do the extra d-ring mod? looking to do it once i acquire the extra rings. would hate to go and buy the tools for one use. will be needing extra for my half cross-country move in march. according to the thread the items needed are:

- #55 Torx socket for impact wrench
- impact wrench (nothing less will break these bastards loose!)
- drill - to enlarge the hole for in the ring for the bed bolt
- grinder to flatten a side of the washer to fit in the d-ring -OR- hammer the washer on the bolt down passed the lock rings and put it under the d-ring

You don't need a impact wrench to do it just a 1/2 inch socket wrench and the torx bit which I have. Then a good breaker bar on end of socket wrench. I've already done it this way works well

 

God doing my rear diff I had to fab up some ghetto breaker bar on that thing. such a pain in the ass

jeezus, just noticed I've got 954 post in this thread (too much time on my hands ??)

Any way I just cut & groomed 4 Chevy springs for a 1st gen leaf build, they are cut proportionally to 1st gen centerpin offset (long leaf to rear 20"/17" to front next leaf is 17" to rear/15" to front)

If anyone is interested let me know....
