This is my first post and it sucks that i have to start it off like this.

I parked my truck across the street last night after i got home from class. Remember, the driver side door is facing my house. i drive to work and when i get out to lock my truck i noticed my left tail light is missing . I said to myself "crap." Someone took their time to unscrew the tail light but they couldn't take two extra seconds to unplug the wire harness that comes from inside the cab to the tail light. The person used wire cutters to cut the wires before the harness plug. Toyota wants a little over $2000 for labor and parts. it sucks but im glad i have insurance.

Is eordonez your neighbor??? That sucks. I think that I might try repairing it myself. You can solder on some new lamp connectors.

+1 get a new harness or a used one at a junk yard.... 2000 bucks for a taillight and some wires seems too damn much to me

HOLY CRAP!!!!! $2,000 does that come with a happy ending? Have you called around to see if a bocy shop can do it for cheaper? Or if you can do it yourself go for it. Do you know how much for the replacement light?

$2000 for a wiring harness and a tailight? What am I missing here? Did they steal your tailgate too?

The parts equal over $800. I would do it myself but my insurance wants to pay for it to get done perfessinally.

That is absolutely insane. It would take less than 30 mins to repair that.
They should be investigated for that.

That's BS... Sounds more like your dealership and insurance company are in bed together. Take the $2000 from the claim and do it yourself for $200.

I think you need to account for your deductible. Go to a junkyard or look on ebay and you should be able to pickup the parts you need for under $150.

It shouldn't even cost $500 to fix. Do it yourself.

There's nothing to fuck up. It involves connecting a few color coded wires and understanding how to use a screwdriver.

    Check with these guys: http://www.alltoyotatrucksuvparts.com/

You can probably get the wiring harness and tail light for less than $200 from them.
