    Thank you good sir. Lol

Got them from ebay. Besides a small leak and fogging issue (easily fix with silicone around the seal prior to installing) they aren't too bad. The projectors could be better and I am actually fixing them this weekend. But with any projector, you'll lose output some. I get a lot of output from my fogs which have HID'S as well. Between that and the headlights.. Its not too bad. Keep an eye out.. Ill be making my read and posting It here too when I swap out the stock projectors in the ebay housing with Morimoto minis along with new bulbs in the headlights and fogs. Should be a nice balance of output and style of the black projectors.

Finished my Retrofit of Morimotos into my Ebay Projectors. Basically just swaping out the old with the new.. but making them fit and work..

    Link to Thread:

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/lighting/167793-looking-retrofit-ebay-halo-projectors.html

    Write up:

OK.... so i finally have them completely done, aimed, working, uploaded pics.. now to the break down. i havent done one of these before so bear with me.

i took them off the truck and baked them just like anything else.

    after baking and peeling apart.

I then compared the stock projectors to the Morimotos in size and shape
    [IMG]

I then took out the the stock projector with the three screws in the back. it sandwiches the black composite plastic between the lens and bowl.

once removed you can really see how close the two projectors are in size. the new Morimoto is on top and has wires coming from it
    [IMG]

i then spent hours and hours trying to figure out how to mount the new projector to the housing. the projectors have different mounting points. the old had three holes.. the new one has four. all in different places. also, the new one was a bit too wide to sit into the hole for the entire projector. This required me to dremel ALOT of the black composite plastic for it to clear and sit into the housing.

once i had it dremeled to fit.. i then had to figure out how to mount it. i tried pieces of flat stock and misc. pieces of metal, etc from Lowes. none of which worked. i needed to find a way to make sure it was going to be level, even, spaced correctly, etc.. and making something from scratch jeopodized all of those.

i then decided to take the plunge and use the stock cutoff/shield plate and cut it and use it. this is the left over from the stick piece after cutting the bottom out that i needed. it had enough room to drill two holes to mount the new bowl and lens to, and then mount that to the black housing using the stock projector holes.

after that, i had to mount the top and make it sturdy.. i just use the stock i had and drilled screws into the black housing. Then slathered two part epoxy over everything to make sure it was solid and prevent cracks.

it definitely isnt pretty, but it is solid. i used the bottom of the solenoid of the new projector and the bottom of the mounting plate i cut up and mounted to to make sure they were straight and even. same pic to show...

I also used some nuts between the mounting plate, and the black plastic to raise it up a little more and clear some of the bowl that touched the black plastic... then another nut behind that to secure it all.

thats about it.. i then test fitted the halo covers and lens..

then baked, sealed, added silicone, and installed. to my surprise the cutoffs were even and straight. just needed aiming.

    Highs
    [IMG]

behind Lowes.. level ground from what i could tell. about 20-30 feet away
    [IMG]

I think they are aimed pretty good now.. just thinking maybe they need to be lowered about it and not sure why the fogs are a different color than the headlights... they are both 4.3k. ???

anyways.. im very pleased with how they came out. With no how to's about this and no certainty if it would work.. i was really nervous and stressed. just eye-balling the levelness and spacing worked out great. If your feeling brave, and confident.. go for it. It was definitely worth it, but time will tell if they hold up. talk about a stressful three days! hope this helps anybody thinking of doing this like I was. As far as i know, im the only one to do this.. which makes me feel good but at the same time, I dont want to steer people in the wrong direction.

    Cheers!

Well figured out that the reason my fog lights were bluish and flicker were because of the ballasts. I swapped out the ballasts and compared one to the other.. and its like night and day. its exactly what the problem was. No flicker and true color. I'll get a pic tomorrow. It's ridiculous. Lol. Also, got my rock lights done. Look sweet.. and work great. AND... Made my light bar brace and they are SOLID now. Pics to come tomorrow.

Smaller, thicker angled aluminum and bolted it to the horizontal light bar, then down to the next horizontal cross member. Two pieces. I'll have pics of all the stuff tomorrow for sure

I made one on the left straight up and down, and one in the middle at the bottom angled up to the right. Adjusted the Hellas, MAY need to bring them in towards each other a bit. Will be able to tell next time I'm out wheelin at night.

OP updated. Headlights and Hellas all aimed and even. Next (within the next couple weeks) ill have my new morimoto ballasts for my fogs and 5k bulbs for both the headlights and fogs. Also, I'm going to order some Fatmat Rattletrap for my back wall, and engine compartment. Then the saving starts for leather and re gear which i have decided to go with 4.10's. I'll be happy with the truck like that for a while. May or may not get sliders and skids. New tires are in the future as well as OBA, navigation, and air horns.. but not relatively soon.
