I'm far too broke to have anything to install right now but would be down to help and try and learn a few things. I'm outside Cville but never mind driving. Also driving to Atlanta for Supercross in Feb let get a TW road trip.

I'm down for Warrenton. Not even a half-hour drive for me.

Whats with all the fine girls going to the Sheetz in Warrenton? That station is our first pitstop when we go riding westward.

I've got family more than likely coming in the weekend of the 29th so I'll be unavailable that weekend. Any other weekend I'd probably be able to make it to help out.

No work for my truck scheduled so I can help where needed. Unless someone has access to a sandblaster and wants to sandblast my avid bar and steps. The herculiner seems to be wearing thin and I can already see some surface rust underneath :(

(Searched function didn't seem to provide sepcific answer)

So what is the overall consensus on Trick Trucks? (specifically the one in Chantilly VA if any of you have been there)- the gentleman there was certainly helpful and patient with an over-excited newbie like myself...but I was a little thrown off because when I was quoted a price of $2533 , he indicated that when they are in there he will assuredly call me and advise me on things that needed to be done "while they were in there"....I get that some of it may be legit but the fact that is was brought up like that makes me wonder how fast until the 2500 skyrockets to 4500 or so....?

welll...in a nutshell....i went in trying to get old man emu and ALL (I am just pretty thrilled that I seem to have the lingo down!)....that was priced out at like $4400 or so...including tires...so

considering that I am a freak about my 6 mo old and safety, I explained that I just wanted something that could handle ANY weather that NOVA would throw at me (infrequent but possibly very heavy rain storms and brief winters with several pretty intense snow storms and the requisite slush, etc) AND dealing with mud on my jobsites (i.e. undeveloped jobsites for construction)....I don't thikn I will do any "offroading" per se like some of the hardcore guys here all things considered...

So we ended up with just a "leveling kit" which would in turn allow me to install 31.7" tires...and the new rims of course...THe tires spec'd out were the Nitto Terra Grapplers in the size of LT265/70R17...this price included front end alignment....the tires were $225/each...he showed me some that were on a truck in the lot that still had alot of tread left on them and said they had already lasted 55k which got my attention as I dont want to replace them again soon!

Oh sorry I am in Norther Va, specifically around Fair Oaks area....I looked at the High Tech website as others have prescribed...for some reason I get the impression that they are more of a general "appearance" place like they get vehicles looking good for show (certainly not knocking that at all!)...and I guess I am not really looking for "off road performance" per se, but since I am more looking for specific performance for my purposes the T Trucks place seemed like the place to start....?

IMO, $4400 for installing a lift kit and some rims/tires is a ripoff unless they're $2000 rims...

    Whats your total parts cost?

If you're just doing a leveling kit and an AAL you're getting soaked and taken for a long ride my friend.

My recommendation; get the parts yourself. Then get a mod day together, find someone that will help you, or get a bottle of Dewars 12yr and PM me.

    Sure :)

In addition to the parts, you'll need to get or rent a set of spring compressors. I've got everything else needed for the lift.

If you've got a garage, that'd be great. If not, a warmish day this winter will work or wait til spring.

Once you see it done you'll wonder why the hell it costs so much. Its really not bad.
