Hello all. I have ome 3" lift, Trail teams wheels (7.5w /w 4.5" backspacing) and 285/75/r16 tires. installed LR UCAs last night attempting to get some caster back. But now my tire is rubbing on the UCA. The pics show the left wheel in full right lock, truck is leaning left.

Do i need a spacer? Would total chaos UCA fix? Or does anyone have the best method to fix?

Tires and wheels come before or after the LR UCA's were installed? Or same time?

IF the tires and wheels were before and they cleared the stock arms, they would have to have barley cleared. The arms are not very much bigger than stock.

Here is a new LR arm under a new ICON tube steel arm. (Out of stock on the TC arms or I would use one of them) You can see the LR is about 3/8" wider on the face but almost 1/2" narrower at the radius. The TC arms will be about the same in size.

    THE FIX cost, lowest first:

$0.0 Know its there and let it rub on hard to lock steering. Just back off in a turn now and then. Plow through it when you need to.

$85.00 Spacer. If you go this way go with a 1" quality spacer with studs etc. Like these http://www.metaltech4x4.com/p-287-6-x-55-1-wheel-spacers.aspx

    $640.00 (w free shipping) TC UCA's with a bit more clearance. http://www.metaltech4x4.com/p-67-total-chaos-fj-cruiser-05-tacoma-03-4runner-uniball-uca.aspx

    $800-3500 Different back spacing rims.

dude, it looks like your more than 3" of lift there, i have the LR uca's to, i am lifted at just over 3 inches and my uca's are almost level. if i were to guess your about 4" of lift. Hell you could just need a good tech to adjust those UCA's, but you look higher than 3".

Its hard to tell with the dirt there, but it looks like the ball joint could be slid outwards and retightened. Then the LCA would have to be adjusted for camber. My ball joints are torqued down as far outward as they will go.

Get it aligned first, if it still rubs, put a 1/4 inch spacer on the hubs.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. It's a little rubbing at full lock...Who cares?! My 285's rub my stock UCAs at full lock in reverse. I just turn the wheel til it rubs then back off a little until it doesn't rub anymore. The only time you're going to be at full lock is going <5mph. All it's done is rub some of the paint off the UCA.

any rubbing is bad? lol.

OP if it barely rubs i would leave it be. but you can always get like a 1/8th inch spacer

It doesnt even rub at full lock on the street. I only rubs while turning and the wheel is under pressure. For example, I was off road and i could feel the rub while turning on whoops.

I took it back to the alignment shop and they let out the upper adjustment as much as they could and then started working it from the bottom up. Looks better now, I'll trying and hit the trails tomorrow and see if it is any better.

Going to Hi-Jack the thread for one question for OZ-T. You are running the 885 coils and are at 2.5" lift correct. How do you like the tires.

agreed, my truck rubs like a bat out of hell. my tires have "self clearanced" my wheel well as much as possible lol.

but if its an easy fix like with a tiny spacer id just fix it
