Those are good batteries, but the only reason he is seeing a little more punch is because of the higher mah rating.

mah X c rating = more amps. More amps will equal more punch.

    For example:

    4000mah x 40c = 160 amps or 4 x 40 = 160

    5000mah x 40c = 200 amps or 5 x 40 = 200

The review would have been more accurate if he was using a 5000mah SPC. Gens Ace is still king when it comes to overall price and performance.

Youre thinking the wrong thing about Mah (milli amp hours). That is how much energy is storable in the pack itself, not how the pack puts that power out, which is the "C" rating. And, all manufacturers lie about those to some extent. Yes, the higher the mah means the cell can do more "work", but not how it does the work. Let me put it this way, take two Tacomas exactly the same, install a larger gas tank on one of them, they still have the same amount of horsepower, but, the larger tanked one can put that amount out for a longer time, thus "doing more work". Make any sense?

OK, here is the very first post when Googling "mah explained" pretty much the same thing I said. I'm not gonna get into a pissing match over battery terminology, as you seem to have it all figured out. It's a higher AVERAGE because it was able to do the work for a longer period of time. Your formulas are correct, but misleading.

lol I agreed with you on what mah is.

Explain to me how my formula is misleading? Are you saying amps have no affect on battery performance? I really wanna know (not trying to be a dick)

Output amps doesn't necessarily have anything to do with mah. And yes, of course, more out put amps is a good thing. Again, the best analogy I can come up with is a gas tank, or bucket of water.

I'm not up on it but, looks sweet, and HiTech has been around for at least 25 yrs. It would be nice to charge more than one pack at a time. What's the out put? Can you charge two different types of batteries at the same time? Have a link?

I actually just got the HiTec x4 AC Plus version of taht charger. So far its great. Only problem is, relatively low amp/watt compared to a lot of the nicer single chargers. So if your looking to fast charge some 5000mah batteries, not going to work for you.. Its 6amp per battery max charge rate. But It works great on my 2200-2600 plane batteries.

Seems like it's hard to find a charger for a reasonable price that's worth a shit.

I need to find a new engine mount for the 3.3 engine.. I don't have a garage or a Dremel anymore, so I can't just modify the upper chassis now.:(
