Hey everyone! I had my tailgate stolen last month while my truck is parked in my driveway. Got a new one, and a lot of people I talk to that own or knows someone who owns a 2nd gen Tacoma, have been stolen. I am getting my truck back from the collision center and will be putting a Pop & Lock installed soon! Just letting all you Fresno Tacoma Owners....a Heads up!

Click the link, its cheaper but granted if they really wanted it they'd have to sit there and unscrew the clamp.

I was there earlier in the day but I got a text from a buddy saying he was getting a pretzel when he heard shots ring out. He grabbed his daughter and booked it the opposite direction.

sucks to hear that!! as a matter of fact my wifes co-worker's husband has a tacoma and their tailgate was stolen too!! i was talking to the guy and it happened right outside their home overnight. luckily insurance covered it but still its a matter of principle...... I have a question that relates to a possib;le theft of these gates, I know in chevys people still gates only if they have the shaved handle, but for tacomas we dont do that but mine came with the reverse camera, do the offroad or all tacomas come with the reverse camera?

I think starting in '09 most of the tacos came with a reverse camera. That's probably why people Steal them. I think the camera alone is like a $500 or somehing crazy like that. The other day A guy came to the shop asking questions about getting a new one because his got stolen. He obviously couldn't afford one from the dealership, who can, so he was asking if a junkyard one would fit and work with his system. And your right it is the principle, it's a shame people can't just work hard for things that they want.
