I went to the local Range Rover dealer today to look at adding a new Range Rover Evoque to the garage. Quite the sexy car. The interior is incredible. Super soft leather, technology galore, beautiful soft touch materials, panaromic roof, and an amazing audio system. The one I'm looking at comes nicely equipped (including the 'winter package') for about $48K + T/T/L fees. Their demo model was already out for a test drive when I got there, so I'm thinking about going back next weekend and scheduling a test drive. I went in thinking I'd prefer the 2 door version, but the 4 door actually caught my attention substantially more! The red is very sexy, but I'm on the fence between that and the pure white. They only had LR2's in the white color, but supposedly it's the same for the Evoque.

    What do you guys think?

I would get the red color matched roof (or possibly black roof, not the white one pictured below).

I do not like the LR2 it a womans car IMO. That Range Rover Evoque in red is very nice. Go for it.

That thing was designed by Range Rover and Victoria Beckham

Yeah, I've heard that. I went with a friend who had a Range Rover about 4 years ago and said that same thing. It's actually what made me decide not to put a $500 (refundable) deposit down today. I'm still researching for preliminary reliability reports (hard finding being such a new vehicle).

I'm not sure. I'll look at the catalog they gave me.

On that note, the Evoque catalog they gave me is 65 pages long with thick, heavy, glossy pages that have actual paint samples on one of the options sections. Very well done!

I like that it has 5 cameras all over the vehicle, that must help in many situations

I also looked at a BMW X6, and audi S5 after the Range Rover dealer. The X6 felt like I was "wrapped in the car" (i.e, very claustrophobic feeling interior) with a front dash that felt like it was 6 inches away from my chest. Very disappointing, as it's been high on my list for the past year or so. The S5 felt very nice inside, but I've been doing some research on them the past couple of months (I skip online reviews and go straight to the online forums... I feel I get a much better overall representation of a vehicle's pros and cons there) and they definitely aren't without their issues (e.g., primarily electrical).

Overall, the Range Rover Evoque just felt the best inside and had tons more options standard than the X6 or S5.

Oh, and I would have looked at an M3 while looking at the X6, but nobody seemed to know where the key was, lol. Oh well, I would have probably passed on the M3 anyway (not really what I'm looking for... more of an impulse thing).

Range Rovers can be good. My parents have always owned Range Rovers, and have loved them.

Check out the Range Rover Sport too. Or just the HSE

How has their "reliability" experience been? Did they purchase new (w/ warranty)?

Honestly, I didn't really consider the Range Rover family until recently (i.e., when the Evoque debuted) as I'm not the biggest fan of their exterior styling. The Evoque has been the only one that has brought me to the dealership ;)

New. With warranty, and extended just in case, as repairs are expensive. Knock in wood, we have had good experiances.

And ya, I'm the opposite, I prefer the Sport to the Evoque.:)
