So...it's finally almost here and I am super excited!
A bit of history: I have had nothing but issues with this Mazda3 since the day I bought it. Not to mention I thought a 4 banger would do fine...man was I way off. (advice: don't go from driving a V8 pushing 365TQ/300HP to an I4 with 156TQ/150HP)

Anyways, after 8 months and 16+ visits to the dealer's service to get nothing fixed and blown off every time and a couple horror stories from certain dealers that shalt be mentioned I have a date with the Mazda North America Operations Customer Service District Manager on March 11 at 9 A.M. to (hopefully) once and for all either get the thing fixed or bought back and by bought back I mean a full refund (lemon law!), no depreciated value shit. IN 1 DAY!!!

I'm incredibly excited but really pessimistic about this. I just have this feeling I'm gonna go there with 16+ service records a detailed list I brought in once and a mini list I'm keeping tabs with on my iPhone to only have the guy say "yea...we can't fix this because _________"and leave me screwed.

So here's my countdown to Tacoma thread.
It's either good news and a Tacoma or bad news and I'm stuck or take a loss on it.

In the end, I hope for the best and I need all your good hopes and wishes too!
    Thanks guys and gals!

    Thanks!
...zoom zoom package? What's in it? Never heard of it...

It's a nice car but the engine and transmission are terrible. I almost want to take the 4 speed from the 99 Volvo and throw it in there with the I5 Turbo engine.

hrmph...I'll have to see if anybody knows it. I've never heard of a package like that. It's got some nice springs and shocks on there already....if mine didn't creak when they compressed. 8 months old and I've got creaking suspension...seriously?
All the more reason I'm so excited!!! :D

good luck with the arbitration process. My dad worked in the auto industry for 20 yrs, ended up buying a new '99 Jeep grand cherokee that gave him nothing but issues and was a total POS. When the guy came to settle it, they sent an old man with a hearing aide where the main issue my dad was having was with the rear end howling and going out(like 3+ times in a year). As such, he couldnt hear anything, claimed nothing was wrong, and my dad traded it in the next day just to get rid of it and vowed to never buy another Chrysler product!

Hope your experience is better than this!

socalman, I've done that...eventually I just gave up and moved on to the next problem.
I might try that Weds. with the district manager...it sounds like it's a great strategy!

Relentless, you would hope my situation is better but it's really not. The outcome on the other hand lets all hope yields a nice TRD Sport DC SB.

spend a 100 bucks to hire a lawyer to come with you. They'll buy it back once they see him....trust me.

small investment to make yourself happy. Just call around...any lawyer will do, its just to scare them.

Better yet if you know someone then go that route.

I would but when they buy it back don't they buy it back at the depreciated market value? I mean I would have no problem if they bought it back for what I payed...

If they do it that way then I only lose like $720 so it's good I guess....just means the Sport DC SB will have to be $720 cheaper. lol :p

I would look up your Lemon Law info & print off any ammunition that will help you get a refund on the car. Then finally get a Tacoma.

Usually with the lemon law there is no depriciation(depending on your state lemon law). I know in GA. They have to refund the full amount you paid. I had a neighbor invoke the lemon law on a camaro. She received the full amount.

I know, finally right? It feels like it's been too long since I first came on here between my drama to getting to this point.
I may do that this weekend, at least dwell deeper into it. But we were talking abou tthem buying it back not a lemon law. In CA there's a difference, cause idk about GA but still...
In CA the lemon law states the manufacturer refund the vehicle amount you paid and the dealership that you purchased the accessories at refunds all accessories and extras that you put into the vehicle. So here it's basically like you never bought the car in the first place. I would absolutely LOVE to do it that way. But a buyback would be adequate.

So with 2 days left, I did some research:
I fit into category 2 of the California Lemon Law which states if a problem has been asserted 4 or more times and still persists...something something...your car's a lemon.

Then I was also thinking about options and started to actually look at the 2010 Mazda3 GT. Although I think it's ugly as shit, I could live with a free one for like 10 years granted I can see it and test drive it. Anyways...
I found that my car is pitiful, I have 26lbs/hp and tq. Whereas the new one wit it's 2.5L I4 has a very useable 18lbs/hp and tq (close to 17 if I didn't live in CA)

Then I started the thought processes...
If he offers to trade mine out with a new one of my choice it would have to be a 2010 model, I mean if all this happened to this one it can happen to another 08.5/09...know what I mean???
If that's shot down, and he offers a buy back that isn't fit to my idea of what it should be (like including Mazda accessories and stuff like that, that I've added) then I may bring up that Lemon Law.
If he offers to fix EVERYTHING (which seems to be very not cost effective) then I may just roll with it and when stuff doesn't get fixed I'll just bring up the Lemon Law and Tacoma my way home. I mean, the Toyota dealership I would buy from is within walking distance of the Mazda dealer I go to.

I just want a couple of opinions since Mazda hasn't changed their site yet, can you guys do me a big favor and go look at my car (Mazda3 GT 5-door) and then look at the 2010 and think: if in my situation what would you do???
Then report back here and tell me if I should roll with a 2010 model if possible or just buy it back with the right terms or Lemon Law it if my options come to that.
    Thanks all!

    2009 (same as 2008.5 model) website: http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/displayPage.action?pageParameter=modelsMain&vehicleCode=M3H
    2010 model website: http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/display2010Mazda3.action?vehicleCode=M3H&directPath=m3h/home
My car's color is Galaxy Gray, the 2010 color I would get would be Gunmetal Blue or Graphite Mica. (they only have Gunmetal Blue in stock around me BTW)

Just looking for opinions on what I should do here when options come up. Everyone knows the Taco I would get...if you don't check out my sig...
