ok so i bought a full OME lift kit with 886s because i also bought a relentless bumper and a winch. now my question is my lift, rims, and tires will be in this week. but my bumper will take up to 4 months. how bad will the ride be if i install everything now before i put the bumper or winch on? should i just wait and do everything at once?

I'm be more concerned with the amount of lift you'll get with 886's in an unloaded Tacoma more so than the ride. It'll ride stiff, but you can live with that. The bigger concern would be getting over 3" of lift and causing damage to the drive line components.

I'd guess a little over 3". They're 10mm taller than the OME 885's and also have a stronger spring rate. The 885's give about 2.5" of lift so add 10mm to that and you're at 3" and up the spring rate, you'll be over 3".

The damage you can do with that kind of lift is causing the CV joints to operate at an angle much steeper than they'd like. Also, the boots can tear from being at that angle and they're a pain in the ass to replace.

I have an access cab with a stock bumper. I have 886's with the toytec spacer. The only added weight up front is an all-pro skid plate. In my opinion, the truck rides fine. I've put over 10k miles on it like this. I do however, have LR uca's. I say just do it now.

What do your CV angles look like and how much lift did you get out of that set up?

I have the 886 and ARB bumper.
Ride is firm which I like.
No problem with boots or cv angles and alignment was easy.
Now have about 35,000 miles on this set up on a 2010 Double Cab.

I did just the opposite of what you did. I had my ARB bumper on stock suspension for a little while before i went with OME 886 front and rear with dakars in the back. the ride is a bit stiffer with the bumper and winch on, which i like.

    3" OME lift 885s & Dakars riding on 33" KM2s
What is your Taco (RC AC DCSB DCLB)?The ride will still be stiff with 886s a Relentless Bumper, winch, Bud Built skids & Sliders. A local had all that with 886s and said "it felt like I was being assaulted". So he switched to 885s with 1/4" spacer.
It depends on what you put them on. 885s on my 4Banger AC got me 3", and got OZ 2 1/2" on his DCLB.

Correct. Op has a double cab so the measurements I gave him were based on OZ's measurements with his double cab so 886's should put him at, if not a little over, 3" of lift unloaded.

I've got 886 coils on my DCSB with CBI front bumper and Warn 8000lb winch with synthetic cable. Even after about 15000 miles on the lift I have at least 3" of lift. My CV angles are a little excessive, the ride is very stiff, and there is barely any articulation while off roading with sway bar installed. I plan on buying a set of 885 coils in the spring and installing them to see if the ride improves.
