Opinions in a hypothetical emergency

If there were an earthquake, what is your opinion of being the best place to be caught in one, and why?

 

In an airplane because you can jut land somewhere else

 

besides a plane. a wide open space such as a field is the best bet, if there is nothing to fall and crush you chances are you will be safe.

Hot air balloon. They don't require runways to land.

 

Not here I can tell you that. I would prefer to be in a open field as another member stated. Besides not having anythign fall on you yuo can see the cracks in order to avoid fallin in .

 

On Kamp Krusty Island because it's earthquake proof!

 

In the bathroom, in the tub, or under a doorframe.

Or outside. Earthquakes are trippy as hell to watch in big fields

 

skydiving.

 

If it were to happen and I get stuck somewhere, I'd rather it be inside of a larger grocery store.

Most everything you need would be there in a pinch.

Think about it. There are flashlights, batteries, food, ice, first aid stuff, water, gloves, stuff to keep yourself clean, baby food and diapers, duct tape and other small general hardware. If it has a pharmacy, there's medicine. Even pet food.

 

Airplane is obvious choice....but in my boat fishing on lake michigan gets my vote.

 

The problem is you don't get to choose, it will be a suprise so all you can do is react and find the best available protection.

Well actually I asked what would be the best place to be if caught in one. And why. A lot of you are saying in the sky where it is safe but nothing about survival after the fact. If there were an earthquake, the landing choices might be less due to broken tarmac.

 

Open field, or helicopter would be ideal.

In my Tacoma. I have a bunch of stuff in it (First-aid kit, flashlight, 4wd) that would all help.

I actually was driving around during an earthquake and did not even feel it. I got to my buddy's house and he was hiding in a doorway, completely freaked out.
