Hey everybody, stumbled into the forums while I was doing a little research earlier, and thought I'd sign up. I go by Dwight, and have had my '06 Tacoma for a little over 2 years. She's still stock, but over time I'd like to add a few things to enhance her off road ability. I've been thinking 2.5" inches of lift and taller tires, along with some other goodies. But all in due time, of course. I'm very pleased with my truck as-is. Mostly, I've explored some of the milder trails in the Northern Colorado Rockies with her, camping in my truck tent, and would like to tackle some of the more difficult runs. Honestly, I've been surprised by what this truck will do in stock trim!

Anyhow, I fell into Tacoma World while I was looking for a fix for my overhead compass/temp display, and found the excellent guide in the mods & tutorials. Of course, that got me looking at the other tweaks and tips in there, so now I have even more ideas for my rig... :D

From the same state, thought I'd say welcome. Check out my photo's IRT your comment about a 2 1/2 or 3" lift. Been in some hard country and my stock truck wasn't up-to-par for it. I keep hitting the skid plate and avoiding obstacles which made it a little uncomfortable at times. With the lift I've found it to be a lot more enjoyable!!

Sharp looking ride you have there. It just seems like 2 1/2"-3" is about the right amount of lift for these trucks. It just looks right. Not too tall, but just enough extra clearance for what I want to do with it. What size of tires are you running on it? I was thinking that 33"s should fit fine with that amount of lift, but I haven't crunched numbers on it yet. Not sure if 35"s would clear without doing some trimming though, which I'd like to avoid if possible.
