    might as well go full independent rear. I bet you could use a lot of the front drive from a 4x4 taco to do it too. if this trucks bad already full independent would be evil!

    This is just a theory but i bet you could take the independent front suspension from a 4x4 tacoma and put it in the rear of your x-runner and still be able to use the original drive shaft. Im assuming of course that the couplings are the same in the front and the rear and that the x-runner and 4x4 have the same couplings to begin with but since its different variations of the same truck theres a pretty good chance that it could work. and then you would have ZERO wheel hop and would shave a few pounds out the rear

    and if you did this, and it worked....

    sounds interesting, but I doubt the OEM front diff would hold a large amount of power. But it is fasho a bad ass idea.

    if this set up fails when I get up to "big" power I'll look into something different lol. I havent even gotten to drive it yet, I pick it up in around 2 weeks.

    Lowered 3/4, debadged, led tails, projector headlights with hids, billet grill, blacked out windows, painted front and rear bumper and grill shell. Inside, 4 crappy 15's, suede wrapped headliner and door panel inserts, alpine double din, few painted pieces inside, and every led is either blue or white.
    If you're thinking of doing an irs why not pull something out of a nissan or something like that? There are a ton of options when it comes to cars that are equipped with an irs from the factory that will handle the power no problem.

    I highly doubt that would work, the diff would rotate in the wrong direction

    If anything look into Supra stuff, it would more than like work well

    yah. supra would prob be the best bet. 240 IRS would prob be a bit too narrow, ive seen them transplanted to harbodies and they work fine. our trucks are a bit wider.

    live axle is still da bestest!
