    my girlfriend wants one of those as a project so bad. I can see why...they are bad little machines. But its hard to come by one that isn't too far gone. All the ones that seem to be in good shape and not too much $$$ are 6 hours away...lol..

    I saw a FJ 40 for sale last time I was in Tuscaloosa visiting my sister. If I had money, a way to get it home, time and somewhere to store it, I would have jumped on it. One of the coolest vehicles ever IMO.

    this one's been in their family since it was new, but probably sepent the last 5 years just sitting in their garage (which is missing a garage door). the engine seems to look good, so as long as that's fairly easy to get running, the rest shouldn't be too bad. we aren't trying to get it to show quality eaither, jsut street legal, and reliable. it will only be used for wheeling, and driving around town, so it's not like we have to get it to ride comfortable or anything.

    a 6" should work for like 4 out of 6 of them, but the last 2 on the drivers side are going to be an issue, i typically combine extensions so you can remove them independently as needed for access.

    Yes. Use a 6" and a 3". Tape them together with electrical tape to prevent separation. Do the same to the socket.

    agree with the tape on the socket, but not on the extensions, i like to pull them out and seperate them for clearance/accessability as needed.
