I use the Harbor Freight pipe 12 ton bender. It works pretty well as long as you take your time. It is the orange thing in the picture above.

There are quite a few welders in ABQ, but they might charge an arm and a leg for that much TIG work. Why do they have to be TIG welded?

Bummer. My 17" steelies. (whenever they come in from ProComp, that is.....)
Ah... I thought that would be considered relatively little welding.

And you know what? I guess they don't have to be TIG welded afterall..... One website I saw, reccomonded that for extra strength and aesthetics, but a couple other sites that sell these said they just need to be welded on. :notsure: So I guess, MIG welding would be enough....

Anyone that can make pretty welds want to do some welding then? :D Or, if my wheels take long enough, I guess I could do the welding since I'll know the basics of SMAW by the end of April...... I know MIG is a bit easier than SMAW to make nicer welds but aren't they about the same strength??

umm, cause some of us arent desk-jockeys...?
:jellydance:....lol. but you make the big bux,get weekends, and dont get possibly shot at (cloudy not me... ihope) or exposed to nasty-ass shit like hep-c or fires...so maybe WE should be :jellymofos:...
then again...nah. you have to wear a tie, dont you?

I am using leave to go to Crested Butte/ Wolf Creek in Febs, then Oregon in June/July. I would love to go to the Moab meet, but that interferes with PaddleFest in Buena Vista, Co whch is the last weekend in may.

Kayaking>>>wheeling... for me. unless i can combine the two, and there are plenty of trails near BV.

same thing with wednesday. I am taking the wife skiing for the first time since our kiddo was born. unless I can go tomorrow, and then maybe I will go to the meet on Wed.
    haha :cookiemonster:

Raymond's work attire is appropriately professional. He is a sharp-dressed man! :D

All the girls are crazy about him for that reason. :plane:

I wish i would have taken a week off to combine both trips, cause they dont interfere, just too much time w/o using annual leave. we'll see.:drevil:

 shit must be given. that is all. :)

The prettiest ARC weld I've ever seen is still pretty horrible compared to an okay MIG weld if using argon/CO2 mix. ARC is generally stronger though unless you use a really powerful MIG machine.

You know I'm good to weld them up for you. Tig will be stronger based on the filler material that is used. And that would be a lot of welding by tig means. But give me a call when they come in. We will get them done and work out some kind of payment.:D I got some things I need for the truck......small things.
