heres a pic in the early stage that may help you. i tucked the cpillar tubes as far back as possible . i was trying to get the upper point where everything meets as close to the sheetmetal as possible ,so when i punch the cage out the back there will be as little sheetmetal work as possible

i cant find a pic of how the cage attaches to the frame but ill take a pic tomorrow to better explain it. its basically bolted to the frame with bolts frame plates and some custom machined standoffs. i felt it is the best option with how the frames these days are constructed.

heres the pics i just took. i still need to do a final sanding and paint on the chassis/underbody. 2 bolts on top ,2 on the bottom . i landed the tube on the standoffs that are bolted on and dropped the cage for final welding. then it was bolted back in place and tube/standoff were welded to the bent plate. i used weld thru primer between the plates and frame so when i final welded there was still a good rust protective coating between the plates.
