I would appreciate anyone's experience with this step...it seems like an inexpensive solution to the wife's gripe. But looking at the hardware and how it attaches, I have some reservation as to how it will hold up (my wife isn't a big lady...but she seems to have a way of breaking all things automotive).

I would not reccomend them due to the longevity factor. Although they have improved over the years I have seen many torn off causing some pretty good sheet metal damage to the vehicle. My .02

Question: When you say "torn off", is that from use as a step...or from something hitting it?

They have redisgned them a few years back. Previous to the redesign I would just thru use and not properly maintained (tightened occasionaly) More recently they have seemed to sure up the design against that but with all the other better options out there without drilling holes into the body. And yes I have heard of the occasional battle with a retread along the road tearing them right off.

What are better options (not a running board/tube or rock sliders) in the way of a simple step?

I saw a step at Pep Boys, "Bully" that looked substantial. I think it was an AS-200. They don't appear to have a Brand website that I can find (not Bullydog...that's different).

Anyone know about the Bully steps, or have a link to the company?
