yeah, if you don't have to listen to the noise everyday...i got the run around the last attempt to have something done because they sent me to the sales manager to see if he had any ideas...he just kept insisting that it was the rain guards which we had already eliminated as the source. i think toyo needs to address the problem even if it's not "mechanical". today is the first day i have had time to try messing with the weather strip myself...i'll let you know the results.

I have my 2012 at the dealer for the 5K service and mentioned the whistle. After confirming what I told them (thanks TacomaWorld!), they called Toyota technical, who instructed them to order a replacement grill with a more rigid rubber strip. Apparently, Toyota agrees this is a problem. I should have the new grill installed next Monday or Tuesday.

i've got the whistle, too... sounds like it is coming from the area of the windsheild wiper driver's side, but i really can't tell for sure.

Why don't you just try the suggestion that seems to have worked for many others on here?

I just bought my 2012 dc sb off-road a week ago and this wind whistle is driving me insane, it starts around 40mph and stays till 60mph. It's bulls#$t that a week old truck is driving me this nuts. Hope this drip line works!

ok, I'm on my way out to get a burrito so I'm gonna listen for the noise but in 2000 miles I swear I haven't heard it so this is all news to me.

and why is toyota replacing grills when the problem is $3.00 worth of rubber stripping?

It worked! "Insert Drip-Line, Exit wind noise!" Thank God, now i can go back to enjoying all the awesomeness of my new truck instead of having to tolerate that annoyance! Thank for the help TW!

Thanks to this thread, my Tacoma wind whistle is resolved.
I also have a 2012 Tacoma that had this whistling problem between 40-65 mph. After reading this thread, I bought a piece of 1/4" outer diameter Vacumm hose at the local auto parts store. Inserted it in the weather strip as noted in previous comments.
It has been about 500 miles and I am happy to say, the noise has disappeared.
Good creative fix ! Many thanks !!!!!!

I just took my first trip in my fully decked out 2012 ToyotaTacoma TRD. I went from LA to Las Vegas. As soon as I hit 70+ mph I got this noise. It stayed with me for 4 hours there and 4 hours back. I could not turn the radio up high enough to cover this up and I could not use on Bluetooth system because the noise was so loud. I was ready to set my truck on fire after 8 hours of this. I showed this to the dealer and they are going to try and figure it out next week. Wish me luck.

OK, I thought I would be one of the first to show an actual video of this but this problem has been around for years. Below are a few examples I found quickly. Shame on Toyota, This is my first Toyota and I paid top dollar. You would think they would of nipped this in the bud years ago...

Do you know the TSB number by chance. I showed the video to my dealer and he acted like it was the oddest thing he had ever seen. He called a mechanic in and he stated he had no idea until they started going over my truck. I don't want these guys pulling my truck apart if there is already a TSB in place.

Or you could just fix it yourself. You would be done before a dealer even checked you in.
