    What is an "indexed drill bit"? I need to find a #11 indexed drill bit and have no idea what that is. I think a #11 may be close if not the same as a 3/16" bit? Thanks! Phil

    A #11 is .191" in diameter.

    What is your application? I have never heard of an "indexed" drill bit.

    It was referenced in the instructions to install the Redline Hood Struts. This bit would be used to drill the hole a rivet goes in.

    The only thing I can think of as far as an "indexed" drill bit is the bit have three ground flat spots on the shank. This keeps it from spinning in the chuck. The flat spots are 120 degrees apart. I will see if I can fin a pic some where.

    Oh, you should be fine with the 3/16" bit. There is only .0035" difference.

    An Index for drill bits is the case holding them according to size. An "indexed" drill bit is one that matches the specific size. A #11 drill bit referes to the specific size of the bit.

    If you purchase a #11 bit you will be fine.

    The flat spots are generally not put on wire size (Numbered) bits because of the bits size. It compromises the integrity of the shank.

    You should be fine with the 3/16". You are only drilling rivet holes. Hope this helps.

    Get all three from you local hardware or Lowes/Home Depot. They are cheap at that size. Best to cover all bases.
