6" Fabtech coilover lift. 35/12.50/17 Mickey Thompson MTZ, 17x9 ProComp 1089 wheels painted black, UWS black lowprofile toolbox, husky liners, tacoma bed mat, bed lights, Premier stereo, Cobra 19 cb, firestik 3' antenna.
I want to order the toytec 3" lift kit with the rear aal, not blocks. In the front im contemplating the 884 and 885s. I know the 885s are for heavier applications (big bumpers, winches). But will the 884's be so soft that they settle over time and dont give a full 3" lift? Also with either of these kits there is a top plate spacer. I'm not sure how thick it is or its specific purpose. I wish the springs alone gave it the lift, and not a spacer. Of course I could be mis understanding what the top plate spacer entails. Help is appreciated.

The 884's and the 885's are the same spring rate, just the 885's are a little longer. The 885's will give just over 3" of lift on your truck. The 884's should give 3", but may settle to 2.5". The top plate spacers for these 2 springs were originally to help for older springs which were more prone to sagging.

Ok now im confused. Do you mean the 884's give the full 3" but will settle to 2.5. I got that. But the 885s only give one inch of lift total??

I have the 885's on my double cab and I think they settled about a 1/4"-1/2."
Not a big difference from when they were first installed. I think it is a 1/2" spacer as well.

My typeing skills suck. I meant that the 885's will give just OVER 3" of lift....Near 3.25 or so.

Oh sweet! That's good to know. Maybe mine is at 3" then after it settled? I was worried it was at 2.5"s or so.

AHHH I gotcha. Dont worry happens to all of us. I was fixin to say that if its only an inch then the past few months of searching on hear and readin up on stuff is completely out the window!. So I think I'm going to go ahead and get the 885 cuz I'd rather have it a little over 3 than under. I would be better off not installing the top plate spacer in this case either I presume?

    Set up-
    285/75/16 BFG MT KM2
Spidertrax spacers all around ( want to keep stock wheels)
toytec 885 kit with aal. not installing top plate spacer

Will I be ok with this set up? I dont go offroadin much at all. Its mainly just in/out deer camp and fishin in the backwoods that I do offroad. I never will push my truck to the limit. If I did add anything to that list it would either be 5100s. But I THINK (not positive) I would be ok with the stock shocks.

MAN i feel like a newbie. I just have to triple check everything before I can throwin money around

The top plate spacer wont be needed for 3+" of lift. You really should consider teh OME n140s shocks for the OME 885 springs. The stock shocks are nowhere near able to dampen the 885 springs.

I will look ito them. It seems you have a reputation around here to be highly in favor of OME :D. Thats good though because I've not heard the first negative thing about their work. Do you have any dealers you would recommend me looking at to consider the n140s?

Oh hey so chris? Are you saying since he has an extended cab and installs the 885's that the weight won't drop the front as much for the spacer to be needed? But since I have a double cab and extra weight that the spacer is needed for the full 3" right even after it settles?

I think he will stay over 3". I have a double cab, and the springs settled right at 3", and they have been there for a long time now. Have your settled below 3"?

I'm not sure because my dumb ass didn't measure it before I got it lifted. So I'm not even sure what it exactly settled at. Oh hey so chris, do the rear AAL's go a little over 2" so that it settles to an even 2" after a little while?

Ok, well, the recent lift I put on Rpoint16's truck gave him 3 1/8 on one side and 3 1/4 on the other....If they settle below 3", its not gonna be much.

Hey chris, at wheelers it shows the ome trim packs and stuff. I know that kinda fixes the so called taco lean. But is it nessesary?

Cuz I was thinking of getting the 885 coils, n140s, and ome rears (or is 5100 better for the rear?) and an aal either from wheelers or toytec. But I have no tsb. Because I did not get a warrenty and paid my truck off cash.
