Feeler: Shackle Flip

Hey all i will be starting work on a shackle flip kit for the 2nd gen.

EDIT: Not using the stock shackle will produce lift, not what i am looking for, so i will be utilizing the stock shackle.

So using anything other than the stock shackle will produce lift, which is not the goal I am going for, therefore I will be sticking with the stock shackle.

 

For reference, ATO's kit with stock shackles still produces about 0.5" of lift.

 

Correct. But using an aftermarket shackle will produce a min of 3" of lift due to TW way it has to be built.

Hell ya man, what are we looking at? Mostly more wheel travel?

 

If you have after market leaf springs that produce lift stock shackle will not work. I have since finished my set and waiting for my longer shackles.

 

How so? Not saying you're wrong, just curious because i've got Deaver leafs..

 

If your springs have any kind of arc the springs will get longer as they flatten out. Look at where the spring eye is know and look at where it will be when it is pushed down by the weight of the truck.

No it's totally cool. I'd rather use an aftermarket shackle.
