If I got the 300BLK I would suppress too.
I wonder what a 556 sounds like out of a 762 suppressor because I only want to buy one of those SoBs

I've got the 762SD (like the SDN6 but 1" longer and less inconel). Nice can, well-built. AAC is moving to a 90-tooth mounting system so I'd wait for the updated can before I dropped the $$.

    On my BLK:
    300BLKSupp_6b256a9f09979673b3aefb62ff068001858ea4f7.jpg

No plans for an AR at this point. I have my 5.56 rig where i like it finally.

on that model, are the baffles and end caps removable from the can?

Not enough that you will notice. Tone might be a bit different but thats about it. Depending on the can you get, weight is the only drawback of having a "one" suppressor workhorse.

Your right on needing the iron sights as a backup, but having a carry handle instead of a flat top just reduces optics possibilities. With a flat top you can mount what ever you want , but still have something like an MBUS just incase your primary optic is out or damaged. The front post sight is a good thing because it usually doesn't affect your line of sight through the optics, but as far as rear sights go, a flip up back up sight makes more sense to me. But i'll forever defend someones right to only use iron sights if thats what they prefer. It all comes down to personal preference.

I use my AR for hog hunting and thats about it. I just need to be able to get a clean shot on one while following up with several more clean shots on others in the pack before the rest run off into the bottom. Hogs on my ranch are a huge problem and the right gun helps limit the population a bit. I started to use an SKS for a while but mine wasn't very reliable so i decided to step it up to a Bushmaster AR in 5.56, and a buddy of mine just got a .308 DPMS Panther that is an accurate ass gun..:quickdraw:

Someone just start a 300 blackout thread.

My boss is building one. I'm trying to talk him into a suppressor.

Yep, I am waiting on the .30/762cal 90T can. I have an AAC M42K coming and a .22lr can coming. I also have two SBR stamps out on two lower receivers. Actually one full rifle and one stripped lower.

On the other stuff Yeah I meant marksman badge.

Huh? A 22 can is the very first one I recommend for a new tax collector. The perfect accessory for the plinker, small game hunter or shooting instructor. You should see the grins on the faces of some of my lib coworkers after they take my buckmark out for a spin.

    But that's another thread.

In what 22 application do you feel they wouldn't be useful? No offense, but have you shot one? Plinking with no ear protection is freakin' awesome! Not trying to rag on you but come on, you're saying that putting a 22 pistol in a newbie's hands without a suppressor is better because there's more noise?

    gotta do more research...

EDIT: Whats the deal with the 90 teeth on the AAC?

AAC started with an 18-tooth ratchet mount. Think about it as a tooth every 20 degrees in the 360 degree arc around the flash hider. Well, they had issues with suppressors backing off and not staying on tight. So they upgraded to 51-tooth mounts (a tooth about every 7 degrees) and it works better. Now they're moving to a 90-tooth mount for tighter fit, less wobble, etc. Mounts are not interchangeable, so if you bought a 51-tooth mount now, you'd basically be buying an outdated design.

oh gotcha, thanks for the knowledge.

how happy are you with your AAC? Do you only shoot it on that bolt rifle?

Very, and no - it also works on my 5.56. Just posted a pic in the suppressor thread.

Because the only thing that could make this gun any more kick ass, is if it had a can on it.

Seriously, you could shoot and run drills with that very rifle for not even a tenth of the cost of running a 5.56. 555 bullets for $17 is far better than 500 bullets for $150. Everyone who has a .22 caliber can will tell you that it gets far more use than any of their other cans. Its also not just hearing safe but as close as you will get to a truly silent weapon. More people should look into training with .22lr I mean seriously look at this rifle and tell me it isn't the shit,

then take into account that it costs so little to run AND I can shoot it at any pistol range that I want I am not just limited to rifle ranges, this thing will be full of winning.

I'll second that my .22 gets a WHOLE lot more action than my 5.56

It'll probably be the first suppressed weapon in my safe
